Would you like some games with your sheep?

This thread is an advert for possibly the best one-man games company in existance:

Llamasoft is one man: Jeff Minter.
Responsable for some really clasic games from "ye-good-old-days".

Now, you might ask why I suddenly decided to make this thread.
Well, today I received in the post a "VLM-3" demo DVD.
Virtual Light Machine 3
For those that didnt have the unforunatly expirence of buying a jaguar, the VLM2 was a very cool light-scyn...much like you have those "visualisations" in WMP.
Only much better, much cooler....and with sheep.

The VLM3 is the same thing for the Gamecube...except its breathtaking...the most amazing effects you can imagine spring and morph on the screen.
The problem is thus:
In order to use the VLM3 you need a lot of wires to hock a stero to the GC to get the sound input.
It was nothing more then a impressive "doodle" by Jeff Minter.

However, he is now making it into a game called "Unity".
The graphics of which will be based on the VLM3....aka...like nothing you have ever seen before.
There was an artical in EDGE about this that went into much detail...I will post screens from my DVD demo later tonight.

This is just one man making a game all on his own...he has the backing of Lionhead (aka the black and white people)
But he is working alone

I personaly think this game will be amazing....and too illerstrate the point why dont you play some of his "classic" games avalible here:

http://www.medwaypvb.pwp.blueyonder....lamadloads.htm

Or his funny PC games here:

http://gubbeen.dowcarter.com/games.htm
(I like Grand Theft Flymo the best)

and Gridrunner here:

http://www.llamasoft.co.uk/

Dont be put off by the graphics...play the games with the sound turned up and youll enjoy them for awhile

Please try out the games, they are great fun, and they almost all feature sheep in some why (the guys a bit mad about them...dont ask).

Ill post screens of that DVD later, to try to show you just how weird this "Unity" game will be

Yeah that game rocked .
I remember playing it, picking up those lama's and goat's and just shooting everyting.
I also played some other game, a platform game where you were the lama and also had to shoot lame things .
Those games really rocked.

Its impossible to discribe how the shapes merge, morph and transform together in one flow of abstract images...

Dunno, Nintendo makes you buy all it's products if you want to complete a game properly.
I read for Wind Waker to access all the stuff or something you need also to connect a GBA.

Dont get me wrong, Nintendo win hands down techicaly, artisticaly, and even profitability.
But sony is seen as the "dominant" games console company.

Well, Deflex has some RED DWALF clips ("Your about as much use as a condom machine in the vatican")

Gridrunner has some Monty Pythen ("Your mother was a hamster and your father smelled of Eldberries!!!")
I think its also got some SPACED clips (basicaly all the sware words sound like Simmon Pegg) , more RED DWALF ("just call me bbbadarse!")

Long live the underdogs!

And long live Minter. Unity will be a stunning work of genius, whatever happens - I have as much faith in this man as I do in Shigsy. And that is saying one helluva lot...

And he just happens to like furry beasties, owt wrong with that? Some people like cars, some people collect weapons ...

Anybody mentioning the curse of the yak recieves a wedgie.
