does lba ress.hqr use raw pallete, and is there any converters to convert jasc .pals?

i'm using psp, and can only save as two types of palletes, jasc and microsoft.

they both turn wrong when putting them back into ress.hqr, so i'm guessing they use raw palletes, but how can i get raw palletes out of psp 7, are their any converters?

Try googling instead of asking for everything.

The solution is simple: El Muerte's LBA Image Viewer. It can convert any type of palette into any other type of palette (e.g. JASC to RAW).

Actually, you have to save the Palette as "Microsoft", and then use the LBA Image Viewer to conver it. That's it.

Did you try right-clicking on the palette at the bottom, loading a palette, and then saving it to a different format. If you don't believe me, then ask El Muerte, he will confirm this.

even with this option all in vain

what palette was lba made for, i tried all of them and they don't work.

I also tried lba's default palette, and my pic look ok, but when reloading into the game, still wrong colours.

I will keep trying, and post if i find an answer, but do you know what palettes lba was meant to take?

i think i know the problem, but someone might need to make a fix.

The program can read lba images, and their palettes, and export them as normal images and palettes.

But it can only import images, and export them as lba images.

It cannot import palettes or images and export them as lba palettes.

So someone might have to create a program that will export the images or palettes, into lba palettes.

The attachment i have added contains, the original lba palette, and 3 other ones you can export on lba image viewer.

see if you understand the difference, and what can be done about it.

is a zip file (need winzip)
Attached Files
File Type: zip palettes.zip‎ (3.4 KB, 180 views)

The actual LBA 2 palette used by the LBA Image Viewer is wrong. The real palette has some colors different. You can get the palette in any LBA 2 screen shot made on Twinsun at day. Then, you'll see the difference. And about the format... the palette in RESS.HQR is a raw palette (I don't understand, why Paint Shop Pro doesn't have any support for them). OK.

are you sure it's raw, because when i reload it back in the screen is totally worng.

plus i' doing this for lba if you may have guessed, as the screenshots in lba 2 are in the screen.hqr file.

also brasilo, could you test it out.

i just used and image, opened it in paint, saved it as 8 mbit (256 colours), then loaded it up in image viewer, extracted raw pal, and image to lim, then replace the entries using lba package editor.

i used the very first screen which was adeline logo
28 - pic
29 - pal

but still don't get the right colours, could you give it a try and tell me if it works for you?

could lba win be effecting this?

With screenshot, I meaned an ingame screenshot. The best would be inside a building (on Twinsun, of course). Then, extract the palette from that.

It's really simple make a new pallete for lba.

Just extract the pallate you deserve and rename it to *.raw instead of *.pal (default) then use any image editing program that open and save raw files.

When it's change, just replace the raw file into the right entrie.

I just wanna a way to create a new pallete from a new image. I think Photoshop make this. I'll try to find something...
