Really? fair enough. I love this guys music.
He's also done an Orchestral version of Gungnam style

Lots of cartoon themes too, and, well lots of stuff that really shouldn't be orchestral and made me laugh out loud when I recognized what they were.

not to upstage you DF, but here's the official zelda footage from Japan, sans awful dubs and including music and sound effects. I'm loving the look of it. It'll be interesting to see if they will be able to make "open world dungeons", like how they talked about approaching dungeons from multiple directions.

Indeed, when you got a landscape that great you want to make use of it! Not hide the player in little pockets.
I hope to constantly be surprised by new things all over the landscape and the dungeons be more like "themed areas with puzzles" rather then explicit tunnels then explicit paturn of subboss's, boss's and keys.

Theres also a lot of gameplay they can put into the landscape itself - Imagine being hunted at night by things that chase you miles and miles? (maybe acting as a movement limiter till you get the right ability to right back - your limited by how far you can go during the day).
Maybe a boss fight over the whole landscape itself. SoC like, but with a more zelda esq puzzle to the fight. (dont ram that boss into a wall.....ram it into a whole cliffside :P)

Lol, didn't even notice.

Other news : there's an exploit for 3DSs up to firmware 9.2 that has been found.
The price of the game used skyrocketed, doubling within hours on amazon, pulled from the e-shop four hours after being revealed

Here is an interview of the guy who found it, he is the best thing that could happen to homebrew. It's sad that nintendo doesn't care, exploit blocked with the next update

Its not fully blocked yet, only some parts.

I'm hoping the guy cracks the firmware open enough for a full replacement - then the game wont by needed after cracking, and people can sale or give it to others to use.

The DS had a fantastic homebrew scene with quite a few of its things becoming commercial (Colours, Puzzle Manik), I really hope to see the same for the 3DS.

Also, to make up for Nintendos lack-luster non-game app support. Its a pretty powerfull machine and, yah, its got Netflix and technically youtube, but it can do far better.

really? I didnt try but that sucks.
The new 3ds (stupid name still) apparently supports HTML5 video fully now, so that probably opens more possibility's at least.

Lots of Nintendo news just out. Details on Majoras Mask 3DS port. New Fireemblem, new Mario & Donkey Kong. Nintendo IP Animes will be coming to a 3DS channel.....blah blah.

THIS new Xenoblade footage was the only big thing for me;

I want to play this now!

They are going to release a Xenoblade for 3DS but it will only be playable on the new 3DS that is so unfair !
On the hacking front : with Smea's ninjhax, there is now a lot more homebrew appearing, I've been testing out custom themes lately, they are awesome
New gateway update aswell, downgrading is possible for those under 9.3 !
I might install a custom firmware plus a 9.4 firmware on my sd card.

Yeah the New 3DS restriction for Xenoblade is annoying.
Its funny as in some ways even the normal 3DS is more powerfull then the Wii, but I guess not in the right ways - and probably not on a ported game rather then something built for the system.
Still, getting tempted by the New 3DS as I want to try the headtracking
--

Homebrew is looking awesome indeed. I was worried for a minute it wouldnt get as interesting as the original DS but it looks like its on route too now.
Still, do you still need that Cubix(?) game in the system to run it? Or does overwritting the firmware perminately remove that need now?

Cubic Ninja was needed until a few days ago when Gateway released a way to downgrade to 4.5.
You can now run homebrews without anything, you just need a ds flashcard to set it up ! (only if you're not on 9.3 or above)

https://gbatemp.net/threads/tutorial...ateway.378721/

My problem with that is you can't use custom themes, and I love the custom themes the custom firmware is a modified 4.5 which doesn't have theme changing yet.

Homebrew should explode with this.

There remains one problem however, around v6 of the 3DS' OS, the save encryption (or something like that) changed, meaning if you downgrade to 4.5 and run a 9.4 OS on your SD, you still won't be able to play any games that use that new save encryption

In other news REGIONTHREE HACK !!! (self-explanatory)
https://gbatemp.net/threads/release-...onfree.378975/

Smea tested a japanese smash bros. on his 3ds, worked fine. Even ran in english. This means Nintendo doesn't even program a different software, they just lock it up... Really not cool.
Oh, and this allows to skip mandatory updates, so 9.2 users (like me ) will be able to play Majora's Mask !!!!

Bumpy bumpy.

High res images here;
https://www.nintendo.co.jp/switch/index.html

That looks pretty cool to me. Not sure about the size portability wise though....and battery life seems likely a issue.
Still, nifty.
Some aspects of the design seems familiar though.

It does look awesome.

You'll need to pay if you want to play online
And then I discovered that Xbone and Piss4 are already doing it !!! What the hell ?!

I am seriously baffled, I don't know how that could've been accepted...

I know. Annoys me too. (Wii/WiiU online was free).

I understand paying for a service - running servers etc. For some games thats needed.

But plenty of games (like Mario Kart) could directly connect if they wanted without the need for separate servers. PC games generally do it this way unless its a MMO. Why cant consoles?

I'll give Nintendo one thing though, its cool they are making their downloadable SNES games online compatible.
