Day After Tommorow was a perfect example of brillent hollywood clichés.
I liked it, but not really for the right reasons.
I mean, im sure it wasnt supposed to be that funny
Some reason i found the idea of running away from "cold" funny.

oh, and the film had possible the slowest wave of water in hollywood history.
Massive wall of water comeing towards you...yet you have time to get something from a car, for someone else to run back to you, and for you to both run back again....all before the water hits

And come-on....
They are in a building with practicaly every piece of furniture made form wood and they burn books? ??? O_o

No, I much prefered Van Hielsing....that was just as stupid, but it never pretended to be scientific or accurate

Spirited Away on DVD

I think the last movie I saw at the Cinema was Spykids 3D.

When you've got a 4 3/4 year old and a 5 month old, you don't get to go to the movies to often.

I hear that Americans running over the Mexican border is quite funny in TDAT. I may just watch it to see that.

I prefered this to good ol' van, but yeah this film is funny as hell, i spent most of the time laughing, but it is really enjoyable, but the problem is, i couldn't relate to the characters (the cinema being really hot and sticky at the time). Yeah the bit with the tidal wave, that was pretty funny, and the police guys jacket was frozen so the only thing you could read was ICE. but yeah i really enjoyed this movie, much better then all the other disaster movie crap we get nowadays

I meant... it was fun watching it, but after your post it suddenly doesn't seem as good. You blasted my ignorance in the water waves area. Evil.

I'm not bothering to watch TDAT because I got the impression that it was just a bunch of neat movie effects, with no further content.

Can anyone confirm this?

If you are ignorant as me and don't care about the fact the waterwave is slow, TDAT is a must see.
It's not plain-effects-no-plot like The Mummy. It's a great hollywood style movie. If you liked Independence Day and Armageddon you'll love it.

A friend of mine said this about it: 60% CGI effects, 40% bad acting, even the CGI was acting better than the actors.

I just saw Lola Rennt. I LOVE it
Must see for people who want something different from the usual holywood stuff

I know I said it before but I'm too much of a show off so... My uncle (Gil Alkabetz) is the ONE who made the animation in Lolla Rennt. He made so many other great animation movies... I'm really proud of him

The Day After Tomorrow just looks like an exercise in style over substance, with a hollywood sized marketing budget behind it. Same with Troy, which looks equally as shit.

Can't remeber the last film I watched. My memory is fucked.

The Day after Tomorrow is crap, don't even bother. I laughed indeed, laughed at their stupidity..it was so idiotic.

Just watched 'The Punisher', for a vengeance movie, the vengeance is really sweet. Yet, they ruined it at the end, well, overall the movie was nothing more than ok. Ain't really worth to watch at Cinema.

Whats your knowledge of science like?
I think if you have very little knowledge you will enjoy it. (because you wont spot the mistakes)
I think if you have a hell of a lot you will enjoy it too. (because you will fall about laughing with some of the physics).

People inbetween though, will be aware that the plot is poorly strung together psudo science yes wont know enough to find it funny

It was a load of effects, but, at least they were original effects and mostly very well done.

DF - I think I'll stay home and wait for Harry Potter 3

Chaos- The Mummy was NOT all about effects.
It was an adventure\horror movie, and a good one at that.
It was exciting, suspending, spooky and just the right amount of "grossness"
You don't need to bash a movie ONLY because it has effects in it.
