This is because the bricks are rendered as 3D, not isometric 2D. By the looks of it you are on 2D (still by the looks of it rendered in 3d without any perspective at all) mode now though (the non-perspective mode), and I have to agree it can use some improvement.

if you got big screen and zoom out a bit perspective is quite useless since unlike the normal isometric thingy you can see pretty much the whole map from wherever your at

I only get access violation when I try use the fill tool (like on paint) on the empty areas and it doesn't give you an error noise.. but simply come up with errors saying that.
I can get "Designer" to work, although I'm not much of a pixel artist and wouldn't have a clue where to begin.

--------
@Rinc: I've got a few issues I want to bring up, I know you've been busy with the graphic update but I felt it would be worth mentioning.

IRC on LBAnet doesn't work as far as I know, or not configured properly. I only mentioned this because the webchat won't run on Firefox so I hoped LBAnet would let me. Gives me more incentive to use it and make chat seem more lively on LBAnet which seems dead on the hours I'm online.

I've been making maps for Colozen and I guess this will leak out but.. I've made a map called "S.S. Astaroth" which is me trying to build a boat. (Inspired by the SS.Anne from the pokemon games to make a ship out of blocks) - Anyway I've been busy in my free time making rooms below deck and they all converted and worked no problem except for 1 map which is identical to the previous 4.

I had grids: RoomP1, RoomP2, RoomP2, RoomP3, RoomP4. The 4th room didn't convert and openning it in the editor crashed my operating system. I've remade it but keeps going corrupt when converted. Its not much of a worry since its a dead-end and not a corridor. I'll continue and work around it.

I think webchat works flawlessly on chrome + i've managed to make a few bricks but getting them into the right format for the Builder is impossible due to teh access violation

the webchat should work with no problem on firefox. I am using it on fireox and it works well. I also tried IE9 and chrome and they both work.

For the IRC in lbanet, this has been discontinued. There was some issues with it and nobody really used it. It will actually be removed in the new engine version.

For your map i can have a look at it. Just talk to me through gtalk tonight and I will see what i can do.

Kept giving me errors, but its fixed itself now.
I didn't know about the IRC being discontinued but ok.

Strange the map wouldn't convert, its technically the same as the previous rooms.
- I'll have an update for the server when I've done Mystic-Island and SS.Astaroth grids. I've fixed all the text signs in Colozen so no more hints about health potions in the spawn.. Look around at obvious signs to see messages in the next big update.

If the webchat doesn't work for you on Firefox, just relog and start the webchat again.

I've had an idea for a new world.

This new world will not have any storyline and will mostly consist of many corridors which will link to rooms. Each room (grid) will be named after the username of the person the map belongs to.
Because LBAnet works by filename the user can easily update their map without having to worry about it conflicting with the rest of the world.

I got this idea after playing GMod Tower on Garry's Mod (Half-life2 mod on steam) and perhaps Habbo Hotel. Except this would be in LBA style.
If anybody agrees on this idea then I can make a grid for the spawning and corridors ready for other users to have their personal map attached. (the rules of this world is 1 map per username)

Name is still being decided for the world.
"Little Big Hotel" ?

Anyway the layout for the corridors connecting the username-rooms together will be square layouts. Basically a ring where the outside of the ring is doors and the inside of the ring are elevators that take you up and down to the next floor.
The layout will repeat for the corridors but in different tilesets, so you could have a corridor like Twinsen's house or the imperial palace depending on which floor your on.

The spawn area won't be anything too special, A simple box room with teleporters going to each floor so when people spawn they can go anywhere without being predicted where to go. You can meet other players by reading the signs and knowing what floor your on.

Edit: Once a name is made for the world, I can create a new thread so that this thread isn't spammed with different discussion.
The new thread can also be a place to submit your grids.

Nice!
Though, isn't Twinsen a little bit too small? I mean, I know that the LBA1-Twinsen and the one from LB2 have a huge difference in size because of their polygon-numbers and such but couldn't you manage it to make him a bit taller
But anyway, great stuff!!

Cool stuff!
Its great to be able to look around the LBA2 maps like that

Now...to test the block pushing...

--

hmz...cant seem to login though. Password must be right, as I can login to the website, but server keeps saying unreachable. (local mode works fine).
Firewall is off, but could be a port issue with my router (as I changed a lot recently), what ports does the game use?

Sorry, I forgot to add that the demo only works in local mode.

All features of lbanet are not yet back implemented with the new engine.

So this demo does not replace Lbanet!
