Its good that your making a new world, its good that I've inspired more people to make custom worlds

Things to consider when creating a world; from what I've learned.

LBArchitect:
  • Create grids and save files with no spaces in the filename!
  • Convert grids into LBAnet-format (.txt file + .phy file)
  • Keep the grid file incase you need to do any edits, such as finding voids or errors which could be fixed.
  • Sloped bricks all look weird because the 3D engine so ignore the transparency display glitch.
LBAnet_Editor:

LBAnet_Editor is still beta and can be buggy; alot of features won't save in online mode and most glitches can be resolved by reloading it. (That includes updating which isn't working)
  • Spawn Location
  • Entrances/Exits
  • NPC locations
  • Ladder locations
  • Text activation locations
  • Zone names
LBAnet_Editor will only load maps that are local and all saves are sent to your world .xml file. If you go online other players won't be able to enter your new grid maps until they have the map installed.

When your finished with map-making the updater will update everybody's client to have it so thats how they see it.

You need to check for errors before publishing. Voids and Entrance/Exit wrong sizes are the biggest concerns as it annoys most players. (I'd recommend adding a teleport to the teleport menu as it gives the players an unstuck option).
Entrances/Exits are relative so if entrance is 3 squares the exit has to be too.. otherwise you fall through the map or get stuck.


I can give you a run through of the LBAnet_Editor if Rinc sends you a copy.
I know how to make entrance/exits, ladders, zone music and what the GUI means.
