Whoa!
There's a class in my school that does such things (Lego and programming), but I don't know if they reach that level.

Yup.
I remember it was still an experiment 3 years ago, and when we needed to choose a direction in high school I thought of going to that.

Heh, that's pretty cool not really too difficult though...!

Surprisingly, that's not too difficult either! At least, not in theory. In practice, it would be *extremely* difficult to implement at the moment because of the standard of Computer Vision techniques at the moment. i.e. they're too poor to allow a decent implementation of that kind of project!

um, actualy it is pretty hard to do.
you could eliminate the need for vision (by say, pre-programing where all the bricks are), but you still need incredable dextorious hands to build with.
And the problem is...the more complex the hands...the harder they are to build
You get stuck in a loop of complexity.

I tried for ages once to build one, i never got passed the design stage.

Yeah, once robots can solve a rubik's cube, it's only a matter of time before they go all terminator on us.

No...we would be doomed.

Terminators are stupid, they always walk into the one thing that can damage them.
(Giant Furnace, Partical Acelerator, Crusher ect)

However, Lego is completely industructable, thats a scientificaly proven fact!
So we would have no escape from judgement day
