Maybe they splitted the pilot (which is usually twice as long) into two episodes on your local TV station? It happened with some shows here as well, I think.

Yes wacks is probably right. Just download shows from Azureus/RevConnect, being depended on broadcasters sucks anyway.

I don't have such an urge to watch that show every 2 hours, I'm fine with 1 episode per week.

And now I see that the file size of the pilot is twice the size, yes yes.

I prefer to choose my own time when I feel like watching tv, instead of someone enforcing an hour on me.

Enforcing is not the word you're looking for.
And I suppose that it's ok for me as it's part of my schedule and I don't improvise my activities on work days.

Actually enforcing is the word I was looking for, but thanks for the concern. Smurf.
Good for you it fits your schedule, I prefer to choose my own time.

When I was 10 years old, we used to scream "smurf" at each other in school...

Did you guys ever think of the fact that piracy equals theft?

stav: I know, I really try to care, but I can't
I prefer pirating over getting brainwashed by commercials (among other nasty stuff).
I might buy a Lost DVD one day though...

I recently figured out that I can get Top Gear off of BT. I love Top Gear, but they only show the shortned versions, and its at 11:30 PM EST on Tuesdays over here (BBC time difference)... So, yeah, I've taken to downloading a few episodes and watching them today... Great fun.

Heh, same here... I mean... I like cars and all that, I think lambos are awesome, but not really into it that much... Still, love Top Gear, could be just because I like to watch reviews of stuff. Or, it could be due to the number of insanely powerful muscle-cars in the show. Not sure.

I think I like it because they do utterly utterly stupid things.
(playing a giant game of conkers with caravans on cranes, or blowing up a building with a car on the top only for the car to survive )

The races they have are always fun too.

Doesn't sound too attractive
Is it any good?

Of course, it is much like West Wing.

It's the most hyped American TV series here right now.

It has that republicans=evil spirit, and that's the most negative thing about it, but who cares?

But I guess that it depends on what you like, I'm not very fond of series like Lost and science-fiction, and prefer those more "intellectual" political series. Its a matter of taste

Aren't you guys even a little ashamed?
I've been going through the whole thread just to conclude you hardly mention old shows. You know, the ones we watched when we were kids (or some of us, at least young). What's up with that? Or didn't you watch tv back then? Towards the end of last summer, I've spent hours every single day (something I still sometimes do), just to figure out what I used to watch back in those days I was 7. Main reason was becoz my bro apparently couldn't remember one of the best cartoons ever created:Teddy Ruxpin. It scared me he had forgotten one of our favs from back then (found the intro song, showed it to him, and he just started crying, whispering:"I remember. Thank you.". That was soooooo cute ) I still am missing a lot of names for shows I slightly remember. But just so they don't get forgotten, please write something about old shows too. Please?

The non-cartoon old shows I used to watch: Family Matters, Diff'rent Strokes, Who's The Boss, My Two Dads, Bewitched, Married With Children, Parker Lewis Can't Lose, I Dream Of Jeannie, Student Bodies, and maybe more I don't remember right now. Each and every one of those was awesome. Some were more awesome than others. I can't really write a review about any of them at the moment cause it ain't fresh in my memory.
Oh and I watched Full House a lot because it was on TV all the time, but it sucked sooo bad.

Edit: Btw, there was also this French tv show about a dragon (called Tufi-TuFlam or something like that), and a man called Vladimir and a woman called Naomi, it was a low-tech scifi set in a far planet. I really liked it. ellimac - maybe by any chance you know what I'm talking about?

I grew up in a time of a one-channel TV in Israel (cables were only introduced in the early 90's, and it took my kibbutz almost 10 years to get cables connection...), so variety was very limited. One of the few shows I remember liking was Alf, it was pretty cool.

(but when I watched it again years later, I thought that it lost its magic )

When you say sci-fi you mean only stuff that happens in the future / in another world?

If you like just any good scifi, click the links on my signature (especially Invasion, Surface, and The 4400)
