They haven't made any great perfomances at all, they are a quite mediocre team. But they have an enormous spirit and morale in their team. And that is a joy to watch, I must say. I hope they beat Germany as well!

And Semih Sentürk is the greatest super-sub since Solskjaer.

Too bad for you, because the exact opposite happened. Russia beat the Netherlands with a magnificent 3:1. So yeah, I'd say you're double-pwned, twice.

Well mate, my prediction pretty much came true to the minute, so dunno what you're trying to prove.

Anyway, not too bothered really, one of my teams didn't even make it to the tournament, and Poland got knocked out. Too bad.

As long as Turkey don't win I'll be happy, they're not even really a part of Europe.

Another fantastic performance by Russia, and it got me 20 nice Euros . Arsjavin was enormous, the best player in this tournament.

I must say that I love to watch the energetic Hiddink football, with the enormous attacking spirit, flair and high pressure.

Holland peaked too early, and once again we see a hyped team from the group stage go out when it starts for real. And it is great - because I hate van Basten (as a coach).

Tomorrow: Italy will beat Spain in a tight contest. If Donadoni's love for Ambrosini won't prove to be all too devastating. I hope to see Aquilani in the starting XI now.

Why did the Netherlands lose?

Both Russia and the Netherlands played extremely offensive. But Russia just seemed more determined.

That last goal was because it deflected of a Dutch player, and van der Sar was expecing it to go to his right and not through his legs.

Oh, OBras is just anti the teams I support, he flamed me on MSN because I'm supporting Germany(He was going on about Germany killing Jews in WWII blah blah blah, don't know what that has to do with football.).

It's a really shame the Netherlands was knocked-out, I really thought they would make it to the finals.

Turkey has soil thats in Eurpoe , recognised by the world.Whats wrong with you? you can support a team but " I just want turks to lose " approach is totally rude."Turks in wer not " complex , get over it.
Also , Israel plays qualification for european cups.Explain that.

The decision as to what is in Europe and what is not is completely random, anyway.

Actually, Israel played in Asia originally, but since all the Arab countries refused to play against us, we were moved to Oceania (which is, like, the furthest possible place away from here ). In 1992 we moved to Europe, can't really remember why.

Netherlands out again...it amazed me to see how poor the defense was. It seemed that every Russian player was left free to recieve a pass. The defense of NL just refused to put pressure on the Russian attackers. If you apply pressure, it's hard for the opposing team to find the 'free man' and they will resort to long balls...

Whoa whoa whoa. Bit misunderstood. The whole Turkey thing was just banter carried on from the #lba thread. They've had a great tournament so far, if not a bit lucky - good for them if they win. I'd just prefer to see a proper European team win, that's all. Same way I don't think Israel should play in Europe since they're just not a part of it, though I do understand the reasoning behind it. I know Turkey's half in Europe, but lets face it it's not really is it?

As for England being less Europe than Turkey, dunno, it's always been a traditional part of Europe hasn't it? Anyway, didn't mean to cause a stir.

Russia had an awesome game, quite glad they went through as it was deserved, though I was rootin' for the dutchies. As for Spain, missed most of the game, so a bit gutted but hopefully I'll catch the highlights.

Team of the moment at the moment? Spain I think, to win...
