you didn't miss anything, i'd just watch the penalty shootout, nothing else happened in the game because italy put all their men behind the ball and were playing for penalties

I know Turkey's half in Europe, but lets face it it's not really is it?

As for England being less Europe than Turkey, dunno, it's always been a traditional part of Europe hasn't it? Anyway, didn't mean to cause a stir.

Russia had an awesome game, quite glad they went through as it was deserved, though I was rootin' for the dutchies. As for Spain, missed most of the game, so a bit gutted but hopefully I'll catch the highlights.

Team of the moment at the moment? Spain I think, to win...
Fair enough, but in most contexts, for example in football, the geographical borders don't really matter. For example, Australia is now part of the AFC, the Asian football governing body, and competes in their tournaments. Turkey, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Kazakstan, Russia and Israel are all partly or fully located outside of EU's geographical borders. Still they are all members of UEFA. Culture and politics is much more important than the exact location on a map.

Today's match: Why the fuck didn't Toni and del Piero take any penalties?? I hoped that Italy would win, but Spain was a well-deserved winner, having showed more attacking intent during the whole match.

I live on that side And theres an international sign that says "Welcome to Europe" when you cross the bridge so it is.A bigger part is considered Asia but hey , if Russia can
I totally understand , that you want a european team as i support Scotland in every game against England
Germany - Turkey , would be hard to make a choice for an englishman XD
Anyway i hope the best wins , we have 14 players 2 of them are keepers , 11 on the field 3 subs , 1 keeper.
The rest is injured or suspended XD

Yeah, the last game was ridiculous. Was it the Turkish keeper who got carded for pushing someone over? Stupid thing to do considering they made it through to the next round...

Anyway, my money is on ze Germans. Should be a good game...

Result 3-2 for Germany. We didn't deserve it at all, this way the final won't take us far.

I personally say Germany did deserve that win.
Well done, my bet is going to the finals!

Turkey kicked some major arse in this one. But their defense buckled in the last four minutes. Terrible way to go. Germany practically had half an open field during that last goal.

Also, the power outage sucked. Missed two whole goals.

German television used the broadcast of Swiss 1, the only station which actually had cables in the stadium. But sound and picture were async, you got told what was happening the next second...

Turkey ran after every single ball. Germany stood around confused. Result: Shots 20-8, Goals 2-3.

Eskom(power supplier) struck in South Africa, we missed about 25 mins of the second half, I had to go channel hopping to Euro News to see the result and then checked the goals I missed

Bloody Germans...they only had three real chances at goal.

Can't say I'm surprised though...

the turkish football team has done their nation proud tonight.. i thought they were better in all departments and outplayed the germans, unlucky not to win, had so many chances. Germany will find it difficult against spain or russia if they play like that in the final (which they probably won't)

I haven't seen such crappy broadcasting even in local matches- so in such an event?? Also, in Turkey's equalizer I heard the commentator shouting "goal!" a couple of seconds before the goal, and the last minutes were commentated by some English channel guy...
Great way to ruin a pretty good match, really.

I'd loved a power outage here. Not exactly fot that match, altough my dumb cousin keep watching soccer 5hs after that.

(and I couldn't use the computer >_<)

I had an overload of football today. Argh!

Btw: Congrats Germany, I bet they will play against Spain.

Anyway I want germans play against Russia, that would rock!

totally agree... i was so sorry to see the face of the turk players when they got the last goal even if i didn't watch like 20 mins of the whole game for the reasons you have said above... italian television called some of the reporters there with a cellphone and they kept commenting the match..

NOW I WANT RUSSIA TO GO TO THE FINALS!!

Very unlucky game for the turks, they definately are the masters of comebacks. Still though, if germany play like that in the final, i doubt they will win.

Increadibly boring, indeed.

I expected Russia to lose, but not by 3 goals.

Overall, there was little entertainment. It seems that the earlier matches are always more exciting than the later ones.
