Dutchies deserve it. We will win it now, nothing can stop us now. We have been through a lot of undeserved knockouts (1992, 1998, 2000, 2008) to stop this time.
How could you forget to mention 2006 (WC, versus Portugal, 14 cards in total, including 3 yellow cards for one player, yes, the referee wasn't paying attention any more)

We were not really better than Portugal, was our own fault. And van Basten by letting van Nistelrooy out of the team and put our very brave but not so technical Dirk Kuyt in the middle of the attack.

Nah I do not think we were stronger than Portugal both 2004 and 2006.
2002 was even worse, once again...portugal (and Ireland)...

Spain was better than Germany and deserve to win. We actually didn't see Germany in this match, which was a bit shame regarding previous games. I always thought Germany would win this match.

The Final will be an interesting match to watch.

The salavashan times confirms that the entire German team has been drugged, explaining their unexplainable poor performance against Spain, meanwhile the Spaniards were confirmed to have been high on a potent mixture of steroids, coke and ecstasy.

Excellent game, I didn't think for a moment that Spain's win would be possible. I was almost certain they would loose to a supposedly far superior Germany, that put down the Argentinians 4-0. Germans looked uneager, bored and almost surrendering. They played defense most of the match, and even when they went on the offense it was usually one lone player left to fend for himself in a sea of Red shirted Spaniards.

Well done Spain. No dissapointments here, both are great teams, and well, Spain and Holland have never won before so I'm glad they're both getting a chance at it now.

Not only was Spain better, but unimaginably so...completely blew the Germans away with their one-touch football midfielders and attackers. Their only weakspot is scoring lots of goals and their defence...

Yeah I was way off, Spain were the better team throughout. I don't think Germany played too badly, I think they just struggled against a team that was obviously an equal opponent if not a greater one. Perhaps they were expecting to walk it again.

But oooh what can Spain play well....class above all other teams so far. Maybe Dutchies will break the spell like Swiss and paraguay, but no doubt this Real Madrid/Barcelona combo is lethal.

I must say that you are wrong here, Germany played a good match. It's just that Spain isn't Argentina and England. You can't play like Germany did against ARgentina or England vs a team like Spain. Germany did their job, but made one mistake on a corner and that decided the match. Their offence was a bit hampered, though, since Müller didn't play.

Overall Spain-Germany was the best match of this World Cup - qualitywise. Very little mistakes were made by both teams. It was a game of chess on the highest level.

Spain were a class apart. Argentina made tactical errors by making the field very long (defence playing against their own keeper and their attack playing very against the opponent keeper), creating lots of space for the german's who excel when given enough space between the lines.

Spain play high tec football...Dunno if the Dutchies can break it.

Yeah, Spain were a class apart, but Germany played good from their ability and did what they should do against Spain.

Thanks, Gustav!

Go Holland!!

Here are some pre-finale scenes from Amsterdam.
Amsterdam is now "full", people from elsewhere are asked not to come here anymore. There are >100 000 people at Museumplein, a large square/park where they put up several huge screens for watching the match.

May the best team win!

I was waiting a better match with more goals and less faults.

Won't the referee get problems for the many cards and faults he made?

Btw, Spain just played better any way, so they deserved to win, but I didn't like the referee in this match...

This whole cup was uber lame, and it's final match was appropriate: boring, slow, tiresome and no art, just robotic technical playing consisting mostly of "aerial" balls, from both sides. Pfft. I was with Spain, btw.

In other worlds, they put a message inside an asteroid to protect it while it travels through space to reach some other planet. In this case it is a gift, a guitar, rather than just a message.

the referee did well... how can he officiate a football match when the netherlands weren't even playing a football match, maybe american football yes. his only mistake was not to send 4 or 5 dutch players off

Some were really bad yeah, most prominently De Jong's flying kick to the chest. That deserved a red. But a lot of fouls were quite light and I was surprised about the number of yellow cards given to the Dutch team. Spain did not receive yellow cards for some similar fouls. Also Holland didn't get a corner they should've gotten, and the attack that led to Spain's goal was pretty offside.

Of course I'm biased and yeah Holland played a quite rough and unclean match, but some international press is really judging and unfair.

I was very much looking forward to partying all fucking week if we had won, and we came quite close.
Spain was the better team and they won. gg.
