I mean jesus, that should tell you something

Mario Galaxy and Metroid look infinitely better then 3rd party efforts/
I don't own Red Steel, I've only watched it online and read reviews, and while I'll that it was terribly controlled, the graphics were pretty good I think. I lot of cool effects and well animated stuff. But reviews kept comparing it to the 360.

Hi, no I'm not back; it's just too hard to not discuss Zelda.

I got Zelda Phantom Hourglass, amazed at how well the touchscreen/drawing on map was used. At first I thought "oh no, long boat trips" and to be honest I'd have prefered it if you weren't attacked or chased every couple of minutes, enjoying the music was enough on it's own. They should've done some pirate side-by-side ship fights, where you then siege their ship. A nice thing they did was made it so you can basically just teleport around the world using the golden frogs, which also puts the writable maps into good use. Also at first, it seemed you'd have good use of all the rupees, but alas I'm nearing the end with over 2000 rupees with nothing to buy.

Spoiler:

The hourglass dungeon, if you have played you know which dungeon i'm talking about, was great at first - sneak around and with a time limit, and the thought of having to go back to the same dungeon but going further in later in the game -- which also put more good use to the writable-maps to help you save precious sand of time. However, I think they overdid that dungeon just a bit - I've just got the last corner of the world map and i'm very bored of that dungeon... and I have a funny suspicion I have 1 more return.

There are plenty of mini games (basically mostly on their own little islands which you find randomly while sailing around). Not my particular cup of tea going through a maze and hitting statues, but I'm sure it's a great addition for some players. There's also the treasure grabbing and the fishing of course, both in which I wish were required parts of the story. I think you had to use the grapling hook once...

The first few bosses were extremely easy but I was pleased when I got to the twin dragon boss in the ice dungeon. Very nice boss, I was actually stuck, god forbid, for a little bit; I like this, it's more satisfying getting stuck at such a thing rather than a switch/number puzzle which I'm glad they didn't overuse. Now, the game is a bit short and had high potential to be a massive game. Why do people want shorter Zelda games? Is it because they feel they must complete it in a weekend? I loved Final Fantasy 3 in the fact that it took a long time to complete; however those random battles are damn annoying. I wish it were a longer games, I like more dungeons. I havn't yet completed it but I know I'm nearing the end, I hope another dungeon uses the phantom hourglass. No complaints about the music from me, I swear most the music is Windwaker, especially sailing - and sounded awesome through line-in on my laptops or headphones. I also got a "Oh wow, nice sound effects!" comment from my friends while I was playing away. It's great quality sound for a handheld game, to me it actually feels like a console game. I had high hopes from the begining for this game basically because it's Zelda, but it was a rare "wow" feeling game which plays very well - great story and great sequal to Windwaker; it's great when a game of this quality comes out for a home console, but this is a handheld device - awesome.

Spoiler:
Pirate-themed, girl turned into statue, take girl on ship - Monkey Island 3?

Well, that's why Zelda TP takes about 50 hours to complete, is it?

Maybe if you did every single sub-quest in the game it'd take 50 hours (+ getting stuck at every single puzzle in the game . The little extras are boring more than half the time. I'm talking about main gameplay.

Nah, just regular gameplay. I didn't have every single sub-quest and most certainly wasn't stuck at every single puzzle. It's also what they say in all the reviews.

Nothing wrong with a short or long game, as long as the game dosnt feel streched.

Twlight Princess felt fine, imo, as its length was in the substance of the game, there was little backtracking or item fetching.
Took me about 65 hours to do, but I DID spend a awfull lot of time on some minigames.
(and yet, this isnt includeing the the poe or bugs being complete)

Really I dont care if Nintendo make short Zeldas, or long ones.
I just want fun, unpredictable with great atmosphere and cool puzzles.

But what about squashed? Minish Cap certainly felt way too short for me.

Did you actually buy it? If not you should if you like it that much. I'm saying this because I don't recall you ever actually buying anything...

Finished Portal + ep2 yesterday. Portal is short but lovely. I expected more of ep2: Spoiler:
Alyx's death and resurrection was very useless and just filler really. After this slow start it got more interesting after getting the car. I am getting tired of having Alyx walking after me all the time though. I had the most fun near the end when that new professor, who oddly gets treated like he has been around for years, sends you out through the base to push a button. That reminded me a lot of HL1, good times. Also the final battle with the hunters and striders was a lot harder than the rest of the game. The striders weren't that hard but killing the hunters in time was. When there are 3 groups going for the base and you're low on ammo killing those can get really hard and you cant take the striders down untill they're dead so that kind of sucked. Let's hope ep3 gets released a lot quicker because one of the purposes for releasing episode games is quicker release but that's something Valve hasn't been doing.

Now playing Zelda: Phantom Hourglass. Best Zelda since a long time. Makes me appreciate Zelda again after being disappointed with Twilight Princess.

Yeah also played Portal and Episode 2.
Episode 2 disappointed me, it's nothing like I imagined it to be except for the short segment of driving in the forest.
The Hunters were too easy and the final mission was too hard.

And about Portal, the concept is cool but needs evolving, yet thanks to the central computer it turned to a hilarious experience that everybody needs to go through.
