Magic ball in reboot

I was thinking, not having tankcontrols kills the aiming of the magic ball. But why not have the magic ball action command turn the analog stick in a rotation mode? And you fire the magic ball when you let go or repress action?

You can then have the same physics with the magic ball and keep the skill similar to lba 1 and 2

you're talking about playing with a controller? I think it would be messy, you would need to change the orientation of your stick when you want to aim while going "south".
Or maybe then you're talking about the 2nd analog stick, not the one you use for walking?
Or maybe I didn't get it.

My biggest problem with removing tank controls is for the keyboard navigation. You would be stuck in a 8-direction setup.

I don't understand, wouldn't having tank controls and an analogical aim (either with the mouse or a joystick) kill the amount as well ? I mean, isn't that exactly what they did in the demo minus the tank controls, or have I already forgotten what it was like ?

Here is my solution: A special series of controllers in the form of all the LBA 1 and 2 weapons - changing the controller and pressing a button makes the game automatically change the weapon (if you have it in your inventory), and then you can just move it as you would move said weapon. It would turn the LBA games into nice alternatives for Wii sports.
