Hey Sam,
This is a really nice effort to bring us a new rendition of our beloved LBA theme. I think you are really good at doing this sort of stuff, as had been seen in the past with your Good luck!

Hey SpaceGuitarist,
Thank you for your answer. LBA having marked my childhood, it was a pleasure to redo this music (basically, I made it to apply to 2.21studio, but I did not get a response - unfortunately I think they have other problems than manage music...) If I had the opportunity, I would like to redo all of LBA's music, but it takes a long time, and I work on the side (I'm a composer for the media, mainly video games), so I don't think to continue for now unfortunately... I made another version of the LBA theme (a version that loops), you can download it here if you want: https://we.tl/t-EO8AvvOVLa

![]() ![]() ![]() It is, in fact, a lot more creative and full of sensibility, I find it more adorable and has a feel of true rearrangement from the original melodies. The samples are really top notch, too. 2.21 didn't answer mine and our other fellow member CS2x's applications either! I find it pretty rude, they could just spend 30 seconds to say "Thank you so much for your interest but we are not in need/interested in hiring anyone in this position at the moment", anything would be better than silence. And we are not the only ones they've done that to. ![]()

Thank you for this complimentary comment ;-)
I wrote in May and got a generic response, and I took the liberty of relaunching my application with the 2 versions of the main theme, but no response, too bad. Maybe they received too many applications and they can't respond to everyone. And then I think they have other problems too, the disappointment of not having found publishers and having to cancel the reboot must not be easy to live with... Did you compose music for LBA when you applied? If so, where can we listen to them?

lol @ everyone applying for the music. I thought everyone here was like me going "it's phillipe vachey or no one else" , which is the only sentiment I have
![]() the calm version is alright, but to be honest, except captain alrik i still think it's quite impossible to redo someone else's music

I thought exactly like you, it's Philippe Vachey or no one else. Besides, this is what I asked in my first message, I only apply if Philippe does not compose the music...
And I also agree that it is difficult to appropriate someone else's music. That's why I hesitated for a long time to redo the main theme, to know how to do it, do I do it like the original with better instruments, do I add my personal touch, is -that I redo the music entirely in my own way, etc...

I didn't create anything new and LBA-related to show them, sorry. I do have my portfolio/reels online of stuff I did with audio in the past.

Ok, I understand. My point of view, I think it is important to always present an audio composed for the project, it personalizes your approach, the devs appreciate this in general... I say that for the next projects to which you wish to apply ;-)

But, as for me, my expectations for 2.21 we already pretty low at that point, lol (as most mbners would know - or anybody who followed the threads in general about the remake). It was more like a "who knows?" kind of shot — if it happens, cool, otherwise, well: ain't surprised! Know what I mean? I wasn't really keen that they'd even respond, or be grateful of our approach, much less appreciate anything we might have done exclusively for them. Retrospectively, I feel it's a good thing we didn't A good example of that is that FanArt Contest we had earlier this year to make drawings of LeBorgne the pirate and the winner would be featured in LBA1's maritime museum - our dear talented member pitiflake went to great lenghts to make a really beautiful art for that. To what end, exactly, I am not sure, as everything is pretty uncertain about the remake, and reboot being cancelled. Sure it was fun to pitch all fans to start making LBA drawings, but I feel that in the end they'll be disappointed that most of it won't see the light of day.

I agree with you regarding 2.21, I didn't have much expectation either, and working in this environment, I think I know when a project looks good... Unfortunately for LBA3 or the remakes, I I didn't feel that it was shaping up correctly... I'm not a fan of the remakes/remasters offered by the way, all the charm of the original LBAs is gone.
Regarding the fans' part, it's regrettable that there is not more contact with the community from 2.21, because without the community which has been active for many years, LBA would be forgotten by everyone today.
