I donated 10 euros! Can't afford more. Don't know if I am going to play this game (hope they'll collect the nessesary ammount), I just wanted to support the developers.

Every little counts.

Going to donate a bit more now myself, but I am still open to donating to any collaborative scheme anyone comes up with.

Remember; Please spread news of the game occasionally on social networks. More coverage will help them at this point as much as direct donations!

Updated the premotion forum;
http://forum.magicball.net/showthread.php?t=17657

If we can get 2Dark covered on a major gaming site it multiplies there chance of funding quite a bit.
For example, even if only 1 in a thousand people donate after seeing a story on IGN, that will still be hundreds more donations.

If I read the page correctly, not receiving the funding would mean they will have to find a publisher for the game. They will however still try to make it; there is just a lot more red tape.

Interview for the french ones;
http://joypad.fr/interview-de-thierr...kers-de-2dark/

44% funded at the moment. Not bad, but no where near where it should be!

Theres still a few big sites yet to cover the game, so a few emails (or using their submission form ) to them could do a lot of good at this point.

yup.
cute little pic sent to people that sponsored them.

I worry though a bit now... They seem stuck at 45%ish.
They need more help.

exactly.
If you could look at the list here;
http://forum.magicball.net/showthread.php?t=17657

Am I missing any big ones?
Coverage on IGN would help a lot I think.
Its why I urge people to send a tip;
http://www.ign.com/support/editorial?category=newstips

Just telling them theres a new game by the alone in the dark creator seeking crowdfunding will help. The more people write in, the higher the chance they will write an artical.

It suddenly got a lot more disturbing;

Caption was:
"Imagine what could do those who get the Gloomy Voxel Editor… "

In other worlds, they put a message inside an asteroid to protect it while it travels through space to reach some other planet. In this case it is a gift, a guitar, rather than just a message.

That image is awesome. They manage to capture the atmosphere of AITD only with that pic.
Now imagine AITD with those lightnings...

I guess it will also be played in slow motion lolol.

maybe not slow motion, but with a lower frame rate on the creatures to emulate stop-motion?

IIRC, stop motion was around 12-24 frames per second, where as the natural eye is about 30. For a game I think best is the higher rate bound. Not expert there tho.

Or just by making the motion 'slow'? The frames of the animation would then look like stop motion.

Depends how the animations done, frames or tweening. Most games these days slowing it down would just make it slow but still smooth - however this engine is very unique, I am not sure how the animation works. Changing the volemtrix data like 3d sprite animations? rotating/stetching and squashing more like skinning? something else?
I look forward to Fred showing off the animation techique once he has it working

Games normally need a lot more then film due to the lack of motion blur - its easier to do 60fps or more in a game then it is proper per-object motion blur. Motion blur in games is typically "copy the last frame over the screen with lower opacity" which is crap.
[insert something here about the "project offset" engine doing proper blur but was abandoned]

I think for this game it could look cool if a horror game overall was as high as possible (60fps or more), but the creatures had a jerky 12fps movement. Its hard to imagine what it would be like, as any lighting changes on the creature (say flickering) would happen a few times inbetween each frame of movement.

My guess is that the voxel 'blocks''s positions are changing in each frame. Because I see them as virtual 'Lego bricks'. I don't think that tweening would look that good, but we'll see

It's over, 33 928€ raised. But they say here that they'll make 10 levels anyway, the second and third objective was only for the thrill
p.s. : Twinsen is on the pic

edit : Link tool works fine for me DF
