Time Commando Problems

So, I borrowed a copy of Time Commando from a friend in an attempt to play it once again... I tried the windows install first, but that didn't work out at all, so I installed it via DOS (Dosbox). After installation, I opened DOSBox, and tried to run the game, but it came up with a 'No CD in Drive' error, even through the CD is in the drive... I tried mounting the D drive to d:\ in DOSBox, in case that was causing the problem, but no luck there... any ideas?

Dunno. I can never get old games to run in a DOS shell/emulator, I tried installing Madden 97 (DOS) on my PC with XP and it wouldn't work correctly, so...

is there a no-cd crack for time commando? Anyhoo - it allegedly works with version 0.61 but not 0.62 - try nd get a copy of 0.61 and try your luck.

Info on mounting cd roms

Ah, thanks a bunch... Now it gives me a different error though... It finds the CD, but says:

'Can't find Time Commando CD'.

I'm using DOSBox 0.63, BTW...

EDIT: Tried using DosBox 0.61, same problem

try this:
mount d D:\ -label TIMECOMM -ioctl -t cdrom

After the -t cdrom you can add your usecd or whatever.

I'm gonna install Time Commando myself and try running it through DOSBox. I'll get back to you.

Ok, I got to run the darn thing, but once I try to leave the game menu and get into the game world it gets stuck. Both on DOSBox 0.63 and DOSBox CVS.

Are you sure the actual drive you inserted timecommando to is "D:"? because if it's like "E:" or something you should use "mount d e:\".

No, It's in the D: Drive... How do you get it to work without DOSBox, though?

Here's a picture of my Windows Explorer.

Hm... weird... Can you check your CD-ROM's contents to see if they're the same as mine? Maybe my CD is bad...

Yeah... same here... At least, the Windows version does, the DOS version just says 'DOS Executable...'

EDIT: CF: Which installation are you using? The DOS one?

I tried both installations, the one who worked on DOSBox however is the DOS one.

It's an Adeline game about some dude who travels in time or something. That's all I know, I never played it.

Oh, and the hero of Time Commando has a guest appearance in LBA2's Emperor Palace.

Time Commando was great - fundamentally flawed true - but hacking somone apart with a claymore is always fun

Time Commando is about this super computer that get a virus, which then sucks the hero inside.

Then the hero must fight his way through different episodes in time (inside the computer...), starting with prehistorik times, through the middle ages and to the future.
