It looks fantastic!

Yeah, as long as there is overlapping areas in the end I'm not whining!

As for area transition, Normally, for a 3D game you would just use a cube that represents area transition and set some values of the cube in a script, you step into it, and it transports you to a different scene.

However... you have a cool grid sytem for defining all that!

Maybe just use a single colour on the grid (like black) to define transition area's, the script would list all of them in a map, and then you would edit the script and for each transition area you would write the zone code by hand. Many of the transition grid cells should be outside the map though, so I'm not sure if you would have to increase the maps size by two cells in each direction to accomodate that...

I think I will define zone code by using Blender vertex paint (I exploit Blender to the maximum !)
And yes, you are right, I need to increase map size to 66x66, damned ! I think it's a good reason to add a GRID_X GRID_Y everywhere

How is the story coded in LBA ?
I know that you can see actor positions/parameters, zones, flags, path using story coder from Alexandre Fontura and the LBA architect from Zink but how do you see the scripts that rule the game ?

Scripts are attached to actors as "life scripts" that automatically execute when the actor is in the room. You'll find the button "AI Scripts" on the actors tab in LBArchitect.
There's a split window. On the left, you see the code associated with the actor number, on the right, you see his movement info.

In story coder project thread it says lbarchitect now has story coder features, is it true ? And where is that version of lbarchitet ?

OR_IF - To use various conditions for the same IF statement. (Used above an IF condition always)

OR_IF CHAPTER < 3
IF NUM_LITTLE_KEYS > 0

means, if chapter < 3 or num_keys > 0 than its valid


SWIF its actually an IF. I never understand the meaning of this command, since at reversing those scripts I didn't find any difference from IF command. Maybe Zink could know something since he's more inside scripting format than me this days.



About the manual. No, there isn't any English version. He was making that PL version of that manual to be fast writing while I explain the format and he was coding the script into LBArchitect. I give to him my previous LBA Story Coder manual to be a guide for a new manual, but it shouldn't be release any time soon. He will only start reworking on the manual after get a stable version of LBArchitect beta versions.

also correct me if I'm wrong, ONE_IF is a IF proceed only one time in the main loop

I'm interested in getting more fans maps, I only found 3 maps made by Inventor. Where are those maps ? The idea is to understand how LBA scripts works before doing those LUA scripts for LSA

Yep, those likes will be like that indeed.

About ONE_IF, it isn't one time in the main loop. Its one time in the life cycle of that script.

Seing it's my language and all, I would translate that as: "Used above/before IF for the purpose of defining a couple of possible conditions, that will trigger the execution of instructions" .

Animation still needs correction so that it can loop smoothly inside the game

I get depressed when I think about this guy, he looks like he's going from place to place without finding happiness ... Will he finally sell those hair dryers in the remake ?

I don't have any rabi bunny yet ...
Also what about nurses (the quech ones) and twinsen wife ? I'm mainly focused on citadel island since Jasiek is creating maps on citadel too.
There is also this robot that fires when you move, a rabi bunny clone, the rabi bunny captain of the boat. I might have forgot some

I have the nurses, the doctors and the rabbibunnies. Just need to do some touching up and I'll upload them.

I also have that robot somewhere, and the tank, and the catamaran and some other stuff.
