Wink LBA 1 and 2 - legal quest...

Yes, folks, I'm here to clear up the LBA 1 And 2 Legal Quest thing. So, you are saying that downloading LBA 1 and 2 for free is illegal? But I will tell you one thing: buying it from eBay and similar sites is even more illegal. Why? Because, when you download it for free, no-one gets no profit, while when you buy it, someone gets a profit. And do you want to know, who? Adeline not. EA not. Activision not. Virgin not. GT Software not. And who, then? The person, who sells it, as he or she sells it without a permission from any of the above-mentioned companies. So, do you still want to forbid talking about downloading LBA 1 and 2? Think about it a little bit...

When you buy something, it become yours, and you can do everything you want with your object. You give money to the producer because it's him who sell it to you, but after this object belong to you, and if you want to sell it, it's normal that you get profits, it won't be interesting to sell something and send the money to the producer !!! They should be rich ohterwise !!!

Lol, how is buying it on eBay illegal, you mug? Its legal because you are buying the original goods. The person paid probably around £20-25 for the game. On eBay you get it for like £2. The games company still made the original monetary profit.

According to your half baked idea, does that mean if I sell a car second hand, its illegal? And nobody is stopping anyone from downloading. If you want to do it, do what the hell you want. but when its going for as cheap as £3-4 on eBay, and you get the original, I'd be willing to pay.

I'm listening to a second-hand CD right now. Will the police come to arrest me?

It's just like the pirates. They buy a thing for $24 and sell them for $6 (quarter a price). So that is legal, too?

It's different. Pirates sell a copy and no the original and that's illegal...

Pirates can buy one CD and sell 100 instead.
And that? Do you think is legal to pay once and been paid 50 times, after?
And ebay probably bought all that CDs, so we're both in legal situation and secured that the game is original and it's in conditions to be used.

In Russian and in Ukraine, the pirates sell the original. Even re-selling the original without the permission of the publisher is illegal. It's written on every CD: "Unauthorized copying, reselling, leasing, and renting is strictly prohibited, and it will be punished by the penalties...". And yes, the point is not in the quantity of what is sold, it just doesn't have to be sold without giving a profit to the publisher(s).

You can sell originals but not copies. That's basically it. Downloading something basically creates copies.

Offcourse you can sell your original things. That is possibly the stupidest thing I have read on this forum.

But offcourse, we can't ALL be right. No. You're right, it'll illegal to sell things second hand! Everyone who owns anything that has been used should be JAILED FOR LIFE11111!1!!!!!one!!!!

You idiot.

Theres plenty of places you can buy LBA2 from! Albeit mainly online, you still see it occasionally in shops. Check out ebay, or cdaccess, as morshem said.

And you *can* download it too, all too easily...unfortunately

The seller had to buy the product from the creator/distributer in the first place. Now strictly speaking you shouldn't really resell a product but it happens, particulary in bootfairs. It would only be illegal if it was stolen or a pirated copy. Now please no more talking of downloading LBA it's not nice. Poor poor Adeline.

I think what they actually mean by 'don't resell this product' is more the following, more specific definition:

as opposed to just selling it on second hand. I think what they mean is 'don't pose as some kind of authorised dealer', or something similar.

OK, OK. I wansn't trying to flame LBA 1/2 buying, but just to say that: alright, you don't like LBA 1/2 downloading, but you can't not help someone, just because he or she has a downloaded version. I think it's just rude. You can suggest someone to buy the game(s), but not force. OK? Let's just be friends. OK?

Why not say that in the first place, that way no none would be mislead?

Yes, I know, I should have said that in the first place. But I didn't expect you reacting like that (you, Follis, was one of the most calm in this thread). So, let's just be friends, OK?
