Because it's out of the country, Jasiek.
England is not attached, we can't walk there.

I'm planning to tour Europe next summer, and Paris is on the list, so maybe we could try and get the days to match up?
I'd like to come but I wouldn't be able to make any extra trips because this one will cost me a fair amount I'm sure you know...

Uhh yeah I think so.
Last time I went to France I was on my dad's passport (long time ago) so I wouldn't really remember.
And we did take that train.

Yeah I think you need one, that's a pity. London and Paris are so close by train...
Maybe the meeting could be in London, if I get some money by them, which I should do.

Nah, let's do it in italy.
In my house.
So i don't even need to get up from my bed.

Anyway, in EU all you need to get away from your country are papers, if you are 18+
else you can't get away without your parents and something affirming that you are son of your parents.
*previous experience*
the guards at the italian border are idiots anyway, once they stopped us cos we didn't have my documents, so we had to come back home again (6 hours of travelling in car), take the documents, then we got back to the border (more 6 hours), and when we got there the guards didnt even watched our faces and said "go on".
