Would 3D Max be easier

Is 3d Max easier to learn than Maya? I kind of understand Maya however it is very complicated and I am frustrated. Would 3D Max be easier or just the same learning course? Besides Lynda.com and Gnomon is there any great online teaching series for 3d?

Try Blender try Blender
Uhm, I never tried Maya. I learned 3ds Max by tutorials (which took some time, and which came on a cd with the program), but it's not very complicated in my eyes, just huge

Neither one is harder to learn than the other. They are just different.

For example, I picked up Maya much quicker than 3dsMax. Others will tell you the opposite. Only way to find out is to grab a hold of Max and give it a go.

Also, don't know if you know this or not, but create hotkeys. They are your friend.

There are plenty of tutorials everywhere. Digital Tutors is one, but I wouldn't recommend it. Try free stuff. Youtube even.

After trying Blender, everything seems easier :P

Personaly, I find Max easiest, but its indeed just a matter of taste.

Truespace6 is also worth a go, what with it being completely free and all...

So is Blender. I'm sure you know this, but just wanted to say it so people know.
