Really nice drawings! Do you already have a release plan for your remake? I'd love to test your game and see it live.

Sadly not. Creation of game is very hard task. In my case I try also to create technology behind it. So I have at least twice as much hard task.

Right now I slowly moving in direction of finishing but it's a little bit to early to talk about any specific date.

I agree. What development platform/environment do you use? I use Visual Studio for my project and in combination with Wix Toolset it's quite straightforward to build and publish.
It's the technology we also use in my company to release installers and updaters for our software. I can highly recommend it.

Whole project is written in C++, graphic library is OpenGL, audio OpenAL and for UI in tools I use QT. My development tool are :
  • On Windows Visual Studio
  • On Linux Clang compiler and VIM editor + plugins to it.
All my projects/makes are right now generated from configuration file (something like CMake). So changes on one platform affecting other. I doing that mostly
because right now I have ~28 projects and changing configuration for each of it separately would be pain.

I use also Jenkins for continuous builds. Right now it's just compilation so I don't have final package building process. I have it in plans but first I need
to figure out flow of this process and do some research. I will check then Wix, previously for Pirate's crystals I were using Inno Setup.

Just saw this thread and some of the screenshots. Looks top-notch. Keep up.

PS: lovin' the doodles in your blog with literal-comical analogies.

In other worlds, they put a message inside an asteroid to protect it while it travels through space to reach some other planet. In this case it is a gift, a guitar, rather than just a message.

Heh, a remake, eh?
I know I'd be interested to see how that comes out.
LBA1's a great game, but if the visuals and sound gained an HD upgrade, as well as possible improved voice-acting... it could become brilliant!

What little I've seen so far seems to head in the right direction.

One concern I always had with the first game and the interior scenes of the second, though. The isometric viewpoint meant I'd be constantly missing my mark with the magic ball leaving me at the mercy of the clones while I had to wait for its bounce to peter out and return to me. It was the one constant annoyance I'd have - hence I'd favour using the sword, once I had it.
Maybe the remake could add something to remedy that? Say, a trajectory-guide...

Yeah I will probably add trajectory of ball like in the android re-release with option to disable its visualization for people who still want have fell of old game.

My goal is to improve quality of graphics that I presented in all movies. But well first I want to release small pre-alpha demo with current graphics containing only prison level. I want to test few things thanks to it and check how it will behave on different machines.

With voice-acting I will need to figure out this somehow because I'm not the best in that :/

Would there be a PC port of some sort too?
(Sorry if that's been asked before - I only recently joined)

Yep there will be PC version (Win/Linux). The re-release of LBA1 I talking about was done to Android/iOS by DotEmu (Commercial). Remake that I doing is just first island of original game and this will be released for free.

(No problems if you have any concerns or want to know something just ask I'm happy to answer them)

Thanks!
No problem, of course. Just PC is more convenient for me. I do have a Smartphone these days, but it's only a small thing and it struggles and labours to even play Angry Birds smoothly.

Well, I'm sure those of us who have microphones would like to help out there...
I've done voices in the past myself for friends on deviantART.
