Graphic Novel: The ice colonies

Hi there, I haven't posted anything for a while on this forum, for I was preparing my own graphic novel about LBA.
Here are the first pages.

It's awesome so far !

Just one question, why do you use the teleportation center's building when speaking about Citadel island ?

Uuuuh... I thought this actually was the citadel...
Well, I'll manage to make it more believable.

Polaris sent me a very nice translated version of the first page.
Since the lettering he chosed fits well in the balloons and his English looks much better than mine, I'd be glad to see more pages translated by him.
(And it would protect me from this tedious work

Big thanks to him !

Do tell me if some part isn't understandable or just seems weird, it's the first time I do something like this, after all...

Streg-> This looks pretty cool, but that is not what I expect from a comic book.
A comic book has full pages with several squares to contemplate.
This video looks more done by someone who wanted to make animated cartoons and sees comics more like the animated show of the poor.
And of course, I do not agree with that.
Still, if you'd like to do something, I would be flattered by it

Polaris->That is perfect, thanks again for your devotion.

This looks uber cool. The story seems quite intricate...

Polaris, please keep it up, I wanna know the rest of the story!

What are "boredom mysts"?? I could not understand the intro of the 2nd page.

Also, may I add, without offense to your awesome volunteer effort, that there are some small typos there: on the 2nd page, "(...) let themselves being progressively (...)", "(...) these new explorerS (...)", and every instance of "capital" should be "major", no?

I should really do my check more thoroughly... Boredom's mysts... I'm not even sure it's a french expretion, I guess it means what pitiflake meant it to mean... I'd say it's to mean that boredom slowly apeared and expanded to finally stay and occult the life/vision of the people...

There is an expression in French similar to that one though, "the mysts of time" to refer to something that happened long ago that people do not remember, that is just like a foggy memory.

I didn't translate today sorry ' I'll do at least two tomorrow.

P.S. : I am not offended, I specifically asked for such remarks

P.S. 2 : Why isn't "let themselves being" good ?
Apart from the same meaning as in English, capital has the meaning of major/crucial in French, thought it's the same in English...

Because it is, I can't explain why, I don't know grammar. I just know.

I let myself be progressively gay
He let himself be progressively gay
They let themselves be progressively gay

There is no "being" in any situation.

I see...
Here's a tip: google your expressions.
With "major change", you'll get more relevant results than "capital change", whose results are either about capital as money, as a country's capital or as uppercase letters.

I'll do the next one later. I plan to finish it today, but those damn things written on the walls will be trickier to replace.

Hmmm... I'd have to say I agree with SGK about the use of "being" and I didn't pay attention to the missing "s" after "explorer".
So instead of saying that your translation is perfect, I'd rather say it is almost perfect
Thanks though for it.
And about the "boredom mysts", it isn't a french expression either. I made it myself to get a more accurate feeling about this, just as Polaris explained it.
That is why I decided to write this graphic novel in French, so that I could use the words that fit best to my ideas (even though it may even sound strange for french readers)

ANyway, it pleases me to see that some members pay that much attention to the pages I published.
And as soon as Polaris will have translated the 4 other pages (if he still has the will to do it of course), I'll give you 4 more pages to watch...and therefore to translate

Oh! I didn't see this last page!
THanks Polaris !
This page is the one I am not very proud of.
The design is a bit dull, plus it hasn't been properly cleaned by myself.
I'll correct it right now on photoshop !

By the way, in what order do you draw/write a page ?
I mean, for example on Planche 3, there are writings on papers that are glued to walls, do you happen to have a version where everything is drawn, but nothing written yet ?

I usually draw it page after page. Otherwise I'd save the hardest part for the end.
As for page 3, it was meant to look that way from the beginning, even if I added another paper glued to the wall after showing the page to a friend who told me that he didn't understand that the other images were propaganda posters also glued on the wall (I hope everybody does by now.)

That really is a fine work you did with this page!
The way you integrated the glued papers is perfect.
That's a shame so few people come to visit this forum.

That's, fortunately, not true! It is known that thousands of people visit here daily, but most of them are just guests, not all of them members, and others simply don't post.

Keep it up guys, I like to devour comics reading several pages at a time. I will come back much later, when you have several pages done, so I can read them all in sequence and really "get into it"...
