Exclamation LbaX version 0.4 is available

LbaX version 0.4 is available!
(I'm half an hour late since I said it would have been available on the 8th )

So what are the changes from version 0.3?
-Automatic test of the path where you installed the game.
-Video settings panel enabled
-Compatibility problems on some systems are fixed now.
-The "isWow64..." bug should be fixed now
-Improvements in the whole game
You will not find other locations in this beta.
The other locations will be uploaded as a seperate installer file, as soon as LbaX will run on a good number of systems.

By the way...
Has anyone seen the Screenshot when you close the game, after the credits?
(hit ESC to exit from the credits screen)
It is a location that will be included in the game...

I still can't enter the 2nd room of the house, it says it can't load the map file: 'twinsenRoomF1a.map2' apparantly there is no directory anyway.

Works near perfect on this pc

Only a few remarks:
*the animationloop seems to be a bit odd, when I walk around my character has hiccups.
*The behavior menu doesn't always work fantastically, one time I tried to go into sporty and I automatically run out of the screen ("access violation at adress 004FD637 in module LBAX_beta.exe'. Read of address 00AB3888.)
*When you recieve the postcard, the textbox in the menu is too small to display it
*How do I get rid of that debugmenu btw?
*There seems to be a wrong direction at the same part Gobbles refers to. All maps are *F1C while this one refers to an F1A (changing the name doesn't help)
*Love the little Funfrock doll btw
*Pushing Esc brings up the menu, but I can't go back to the game
*Screenshot works fine

It seems that Davide didn`t noticed the things I wrote about the animation loops.
I`ll try to make a list when the loops start and end.
And btw,Atre,the Funfrock doll is like an easter egg I thought up for a joke ;P

Yes, i tried renaming the files to what the game requested and instead you just walk out of the house and into the black. And i don't know if it's a really hard thing to do, but Twinsen doesn't walk down or up the stairs too well, he's like always one step behind.

It still doesent work - the problem is the same as it was, the only new thing is that I can see the whole panel where the stance is selected - not just shreads of it.

Now I get this:
Fatal exception 0E at 0028:C02A27A8 in VXD VWIN32 (05) + 000012D0.

What's wrong now?

ehhh.. same porblem as bot13 which same problem as jasiek...

However... I did check your "rules"-code which seemed to have a very good structure... that means your skilled... However i think i find something wrong, im not sure. just take a look:

Procedure GiveLifeToPlayer(var Life: integer; k:integer);
Begin
if (life+k)<=100 then
life:=life+k;

Doesnt this mean that if ur life 98 and you gain 4 life you still have 98 life ?!

I corrected it:

Procedure GiveLifeToPlayer(var Life: integer; k:integer);
Begin
if (life+k)<=100 then
life:=life+k
else
life:=100;

For those who can't get it to work. Did you try downloading all the .dll files suggested earlier?
I did that with the previous update, so I reckon that must cause it to work this time.

Hi,
I must say that I left the gamerules.pas code not intentionally, just.. don't know why
It has some routines of the game, not all of them. But many. And it's not completed, so some routines are not 100% perfect since now I'm focusing on some bugs and compatibility problems.
But since you started it... I'll make this experiment: do you want to work on it? Then do that! Then post it as zip in this forum. You can speed up my work
Just make a comment (// before a line) to say that you modyfied it, and what you modified.

I forgot to say that in this beta there are no other locations than the Twinsen home!
So don't waste your time renaming some files

To Atresica: what exactly have you done with the DLL files?
And did it make the game run? The older version too?

To Bot12, LbaWins and the other: I'm reporting this bug to the GLscene forum, in a few days it will be fixed I hope.

About the bugs Atresica reported, I'm working on them. And about the animations start/stop frame, it should have already fixed but I found an unexpected bug that slowed me a little bit about that.

Hmm... maybe i will try to fix some bugs... as im very unadanced pascal user i will only be able to fix the simple bugs like the life one... (btw... for fixes from other users than mad_aeon... lets put it in (* <text/code> *)(put the real code written by mad_aeon here, not your own fixed code) tags, so you know which ones not edited by you ) Hope you liked my idea

I only put them in my system32 folder

I downloaded the following:
netapi32.dll
wsock32.dll
ole32.dll
advapi32.dll
user32.dll
opengl32.dll

This was to get 0.030 to work, but that didn't help a thing.
0.040 however started perfectly without any trouble.

When Horadrim said to download those files I've checked my system32 folder - all those files are there... Oh, when I leave the detail as it is, I can see the whole window where you select the stance, when I move the detail to max, it changes like it was on the screens - but now I can see the Twinsen model i the "autostart" thingie.

Well, if the option-menu comes up and all the graphics work, at least the Opengl32.dll should be fine.

If not and you still possess the .dll, check the date.

What does your res.txt say?
