UFO Little Big Hotel

I found this on my computer and decided its worth posting.

Little Big Hotel is an open world project; to encourage map makers for LBA.net
It has been designed based off Habbo Hotel and G-Mod Tower.

Public areas: Spawn (shuttle pad), Reception (*see screenshot), walkway, PvP Centre.
Private areas: .. currently none.

The idea of this project is that each user has their own room within the hotel; each corridor has similar layouts (just a different tileset so to tell the floors apart).

-------
When map making the naming scheme will be: public000 (reception), public001 (floor 1), public002 (floor 2).. etc
User maps will be named after their username and if they have more than 1 map then they can simply add '&' to the filename with a number.

Example.

DarkOnistar, DarkOnistar&001, DarkOnistar&002

(This makes it easier to find maps when there are alot of user maps already added - may have to replace the '&' if its not acceptable letter to use).

The rule of adding maps is that you can only access your room via your door or reserved space. Other maps you create must be linked to your other maps and can't have another. (Basically 1 door/room per user)

=========
If this isn't clear, feel free to ask questions.

This sound interesting.
As soon as I am finished with the new engine (probably need 1 or 2 more weeks) I will integrate it to LbaNet.

So if anybody is interested by making their own room/apartment is the hotel you can start to design it using Lbarchitect!

Mazaka151: I don't tend to use the beta7 version of LBArchitect because I had issues loading/saving in lba2 formats.

Rincevent: no problems, I'm expecting alot of work within the next 2 weeks. (huge Maths assignment + Labwork + physics problem sheet + weekly homework + revision *I doubt I'll get much done those weeks*)

I have a tutorial for LBArchitect if anybody is interested; it may help people getting started.

Mazaka151: fair enough. Beta7 is probably better in terms of it not crashing so much, but it has removed features for creating LBA2 maps which makes it annoying to use if your trying to use LBA2 tilesets.

Polaris: All sides; I've got 2 corridor maps where you have a rectangle with a room in the middle of the rectangle (connected by 2 corridors linking to the rectangular corridor), off the rectangle there are entrances to the rooms.

I'll post a screenshot when I get back to Halls.
- I guess when you mention that I should make a rule about the direction of your exits in relation to your entrance; as you don't want to run into a room only to find your running out.

The direction is not an issue as with the new engine you can force the player to rotate to the direction you want when teleporting.

No, it's only that it's weird to get outside by a door situated on the bottom left, and find yourself in a new room, also on the bottom left.

The attachment screenshot shows a basic floor layout.

Red and Blue are zones which when walked into teleports you a floor up or down. The spawn for the floor is the yellow zone.

The aim of LBA hotel isn't to create floor levels though, its about user levels so that is why its been kept as simple as possible so users can simply go to a floor and go to their mates level.

Edit: There is another floor I made, which is Twinsen's house tileset; layout is exactly the same as screenshot.
