LBA 1 - Route Specific Save Files v1.1

I've put together a list of save files for each split in the currently established route, as of 2015-09-13. Each of these saves reflect the starting point of each split, with exception for the first (Escape from Citadel) which is not included, as it would only reflect a fresh new game. Keep in mind also that different runners use different amount of splits and names of their splits. The save files in this archive reflect my splits and their names but the route is applicable to the current WR as well.

In creating these save files I've intended to make practice of specific segments easier. Use these in any way you see fit. Feel free to change or add to the saves and share these with the rest of us.

I would as well like to create an archive with save files which reflect the current routing (items, chapter, game flags set, etc.) but which do not start at specific splits, but rather at all the different points of interest. Such an archive would help in finding new strats and skips, or to practice smaller bits. Any help with this would be appreciated! An archive containing perfect starting points for strats will be put together soon to increase the proficiency of practicing things like meca-jumps and the zebra crossing much easier.

Current routing/saves are:

1. Escape from Citadel (not included as it's essentially new game)
2. Fisherman's Boat (the whole of 1st visit to Principal Island, named after the end where you catch a ride with the fisherman's boat)
3. Bú and Horn (book of bú then horn using museum skip strat)
4. Red Card and Flute (Proxima Island visit, no museum or proto-pack)
5. Hamalayi Pipe Trick (Hamalayi gate skip, Mutant Factory, Get meca at Carrot Door, Clear Lake, Get meca on way back to Principal Island, ends at Principal)
6. Sword and Guitar (Starts and Principal before going into Fortress for the sword, ends reaching Teleportation Center in the Northern Hemisphere)
7. Dino-Fly Scenic Route (Tippet Island to Dino-Fly, named after the long scene when flying with the Dino-Fly away from Tippet Island)
8. Raze the Fortress (Fortress Island, ends when transitioning into Polar Island)
9. Heading to Rocky Peak (Polar Island to gate into Rocky Peak)
10. End of Tyranny (starts at bottom of Rocky Peak, ends at end game)

How to install:

Just throw these in your LBA 1 folder and you're ready to go. For further tips, see recommended use below.

Recommended use:

• Set these save files as read-only. This way they won't get overwritten by LBA 1 but can still be loaded. Useful for preventing the saves from not reflecting the start of the split. Downside to this is you can't practice load warps and death warps.
• Copy the save file you are going to practice inside of LBA 1 using the saved games management menu. This way you can practice using the save file you copied to.
• For further ease in practice you can adjust the file name of your copied save file and make it appear at the top. Simply go into LBA 1 directory and name your newly copied game to "01-x", where x is whatever you choose. "01" prefix is the important part as this will make your save appear at the top inside LBA 1. Don't forget to restart the game as this is when saves are loaded into the list.

• Made sure all saves have two clover boxes.
• Made sure first save (Fisherman's Boat) have two clovers to reflect state of a new game on Citadel. If you yourself use up these clovers on Citadel Island then this save in particular will not entirely reflect your state at that point.
• Made sure all saves reflect chapter 6 as the current chapter after having done Temple of Bú up until the end.
• Removed blue card from all saves to reflect the blue card meca-skips, used in the outpost before Clear Water Lake and at Principal Fortress.

Route has changed slightly in light of a new meca-penguin found by serializer/DocPaisley. This meca-penguin is hidden in the same grid where the Carrot door is located and at this stage it's hard to say if this meca was previously known by the community at large.

In any case, this meca has allowed for a new strat to be developed where blue card, and thus saving Joe the Elf, is entirely skipped. New saves for practice will be posted to reflect this state asap.

A new version have now been released, see changelog below for further details. Note that this has not been extensively tested but should probably, maybe, work well. As for the new strat of skipping blue card no complete run has been recorded with this yet. That's awesome and it's been updated quickly though thanks for your work man! Also I want to say that we have to keep the first version though because my brother don't want to skip the blue card and maybe more players won't want to skip it too. So it gives the runner the possibility to choose!

Thank you Freeman. I'm also putting together a few saves for the more difficult strats so that it will be easier to practice those over and over I'll throw it up here as soon as it's done.

Ah, that's a good point! The first version is still attached to the first post, but I also added a link in that same post, below the link for downloading the latest version. Should work out pretty well.
