For me LBA2 was my first video game ever, and still I like a lot more LBA1. Maybe because it feels "darker", maybe because I always thought "If this is LBA2, there must be an LBA1!" and that thought brought me to the forums on 2006. Maybe because it's more moddable.

Thanks again for the news Fred. I can't get enough of your games

By the end of the year?
It's a one day game if you've played it before, or maybe a few tops if you've forgotten a lot...

Unless you want to actually play (with) the game

But are there enough fans to crowdfund a new game? Games are fairly expensive to make nowadays... (That said, LBA2 was a massive part of my childhood and I would gladly donate to it!)

There's not much risk in trying. It seems like each game received about 900 ratings (with an average of 5/5) on gog.com. I don't know how it compares with other games in there, but considering it's merely a re-release, and the number of persons who bought it is surely superior to that, we could assume that more people would pledge for LBA3, and some of them would give high amounts of money. Personally I'm ready to donate quite a lot (at least more than the usual game price tag) to support it.

Well, you could buy just to support the developers... The games are digital downloads, so you will always have a copy of LBA available, too...

Yes it is. As long as Gog exists, you will still have the game avaible for download (much like Steam, I guess)

All of use hope its going to happen. But still, we are not sure if it really will. By the looks of it, I have some hope that there will still be an LBA 3. I remember conversations years ago about LBA 3, yet nothing interesting happened...

Now, here we are in the middle of 2013, and we finally have some big news about LBA 3. ( Or at least we are going to. )

But, lets not give our hopes up. There still may not be an LBA 3.

As the years went by, my expectations from an LBA3 game have gotten so fat that I feel like it must be the best game in the history of best games for me to be content with it. No pressure Fred

I don't just want the third game for us here at MBN.. Think about it, about 90% of "hardcore" LBA fans, found this site years ago, and it's the site that's kept the fandom alive.. So by those calculations, those last 10% are the unknown income for LBA3.. I don't want LBA3 to barely make it out, I want a NEW generation to fall in love with the series as I, and several of you guys, did all those years ago.
The only way LBA3 could and SHOULD come out, is if the first two games are remade for the new kids. They also need to be properly advertised.

In the meantime, we shouldn't even be discussing it. First things first. The ports (if made with utmost care) can reach out to gamer consumers that didn't exsist when the first games were out. Everyone and their grandmother has a smartphone these days, and the possibility of a port spreading like wildfire is most certainly there, if executed properly.

The remakes allthough, I don't see them gaining success at all. Why? Because PC gaming doesn't sell as well as it did. The key here, is reaching out to the PS4.. IMO Sony are betting heavily on indie this gen, and Raynal should march up there with his ideas, and sell the heck out of it.. Also, LBA has history with Sony and the Playstation.. Anyways, those are just my two cents...
