Major problems

Hello guys!
I have flicked through a few threads in this part of the forum and still my LBA2 is playing up.

I'm currently running;

Windows Vista Business SP2
Intel Pentium 4 CPU 2.80GHz 2.79 GHz
1.50GB Ram
32-bit OS
Graphics - NVIDIA GeForce FX 5500

I know this isn't excellent but it should easily run LBA2 Surely?

This is the first time I have attempted to run LBA2 on this system but came across a few problems.

At the start I had graphic problems as if the screen was split into lines.. So I patched it with Frogs patch (Forgot the name but I'm sure you know what I mean) and that sorted the first problem..

Then I had problems with lagging. The game would pause and continue uncontrollably making it almost impossible to play (This only happened in the landscape and not in rooms/buildings) and another problem is the music. It plays for a very short while then stops and repeats this every time I enter a new scene.

I have changed the compatibility to windows 98 with no difference and changed to windows 95 with still no results.

Please Help!

heh

your Windows has issues with responding to LBA2's DirectX calls ... such as DirectInput, DirectSound, etc. and also other Vista-specific thing might be running around ... hmm, unless u would reinstall ur system for LBA's sake, I'd suggest u download VMPlayer (it's a Virtual Machine client) and setup a very small, basic version of Windows XP or 2000, 98 maybe and see how that works ... if the problems i've mentioned above were strictly system-related as to your faulty Vista, then my solution SHOULD guaranty 99% problem solving

Perhaps he simply needs to install DirectX or his graphics card drivers? LBA2 works on Vista, there is no reason he should have to use a virtual machine.
