Alice in Texture Land

I was just having an Opium inspired relax, when I thought it might be nice to follow that white rabbit and produce a new bit of art. And so the journey began. A few mushrooms and a jabberwocky later, and these were the reults. The first is with standard texturing, and the rest are with my favourite new dirt maps! Tell me what you think.....

~Louis 'Monkey' Carol

PS. The images will be here soon, but my floppy is beggared, and scandisk wont stop...well scandisking (new verb methinks).

EDIT

OK, Scandisk decided to destory my first image (the one that wasn't dirty) so I shall launch you straight in to the grimy underbelly of my kitchen. The series is called:

You Never Wash Up After Yourself

To keep my usual links with songs (Points for guessing again)

It looks very good, but you can still clearly see it's a 2D texture.. maybe add more bumpmapping?

[edit] on second sight, I see you already added lots of bumps, and actually it doesn't look too bad..

Yes very good. I would have rated it as 'awsome' if you hadn't made references to Alice In Wonderland, which has to be one of the shittest and downright annoying books I've read. Although the drug refernces were placed well and used to maximum effect which clawed a few marks back. Hmmm... now that I think about Lewis Carrol was probably on Opium when he wrote Alice in wonderland... which would explain alot...

Oh yeah, the pics right, soz. Is this based on the sink at your current residence? The beans sauce look rather inspired, I doubt even the new brand of Fairy Liquid would get rid of that with ease. But students can't afford Fairy Liquid can they? They spend all their money in the pub! Ah fuck it I'm rambling and don't know what I'm talking about....

You Never Wash Up After Yourself = Radiohead.

Game set and match, Snapman.

Cheers for the comments!

Pandemonia:

The modelling was done mainly in TS4, the rendering in Cinema 4D v.5/SE because it has a much better rendering engine. The bean textures were created with the GIMP, and are basically plasma maps placed over a mosaiced (a word???) plate texture.

Wacko:

The textures never quite bumped as perfectly as I wanted (and the plate cracks are a bit pixelised) but I tried producing the texture as a 3d model and it just looked shit!

StarmanDX:

Ligghting is one of the other main areas I am trying to work on improving at the moment. I have a bit of a tendency to under-light my scenes.....Very moody but not always the most effective!

Snapman:

You cheeky bugger - I can afford Fairy.......I just choose not to buy it Anyway, a blowtorch is far more fun for cleaning plates with

Diffuses? (Did I miss some sarcsm there? Oh well ) Yeah I probably should have put a few non-shadow casting lights around to soften the harshness of the lines.

That's the badger.
Anyway, even with one lightbulb, light would be refracted through the bulb... etc.

The story of Alice is very deep in analyzing the human psyche. Also, an important thing about understanding that story is that you have to be aware that Alice was insane. The game makes a great portraying of the story. Much more real than the Dysney version.

Uhhh... I don't think Alice was insane. The story showed the large imaginations that young children have.

I thought Alice In Wonderland sucked actually. The story seems to have no point to it, and goes nowhere.

Mmmm, good cookies, now I know how Caroll got his ideas. Think I'm going to do the sewer pipe trick and look around on principal island, LBA2-style
