Arrow Captured gameplay movies competition

Well, we already have a screenshot competition, but it's getting boring already! Why not make a new competition?

Grab your SnagIt/whatever, your DOSBox/LbaWin/whatever, and start capturing some videos!

Here's mine, a cool thing I found out about just yesterday!

Use this codec pack to view/encode your movies

- ChaosFish: Can the movies be of the gameplay of a modded version of LBA 1 or LBA 2?

- ChaosFish: Fine. The next weekend (this weekend I'm going to Paris), I'm going to make and upload some nice gameplay movies from my modded versions (e.g. the "preview version" sewers (LBA2; see the thread in LBA Modifications), talking with Raymond in LBA 2 (), etc.).

BTW, can you recommand me any good program for capturing these movies? Apart FRAPS, as the versions of FRAPS, that supprot LBA 1 and LBA 2, don't work in Windows 98 (they need at least Win2000 or WinXP).

As I said, use SnagIt. It's really good. But it won't work with DOS or full screen DirectX, so you need use LbaWin or DOSBox for LBA1, and DOSBox for LBA2.

Why should I be forced to download special features in order to view a simple video file, that's in the simplest format possible (AVI)?
Not to mention that those "special features" are of a 10MBs file.

Thanks for the show, ChaosFish. I also figured out that air-lock trick.

It's a common codec pack morshem.
It allows you to view any movie you download from the internet, you should download it. It include codecs such as DivX and XviD, which I used to codec this movie. If I hadn't have used it, it would be like 20 mb instead of 2 mb.

One "?"/"!" is enough for one sentence usually [/off topic]

If you don't have a place to host, text [email address] and I'll host it (must be less than 6 mb)

Avi isnt really "simple" format, its a package.

Avi's can be any of thousands of codecs (Compression/Decompression techiques), theres no such thing as a "normal" avi.
There are a set of about 10 codecs that come with windows:
But they are all pretty much out dated and rubbish

Hence, its not unreasonable for people to download Divx , because it uses very sosphicated techiques to make movies tiny while maintaining high quality.
The codecs are pretty tiny compared to the space they save.

Isn't AVI the oldest video format ever?
(I remember I used it on Windows 3.11)
