It's when you get the portable radio from Baldino in LBA2. You can use it to speak with Zoé.

He said it, though. Looks like you need to play the game again.

I once ripped that line with LBADeComp, so you can download it

HERE.

I don't think he says exactly that in French.

No, he doesn't say it. I played the game countless times and I'm sure I never heard this quote. It's in the database, but it wasn't integrated into the actual game.

This is what Baldino says when he gives you the radio:
"Here, this is that portable radio I forgot to give you. Sorry about the mixup, but I think you'll agree it was worth waiting for!"

(and yes, I know this thread is 9 years old )

Not really true, just don't pick it up. Proof it's possible. Yes you need bugs, but not so much "you can't complete the game without the radio".

I do remember this from somewhere... especially the ISDCM part...
I've got a fantastic memory, it makes me say "oh, I know this already", but never wherefrom

However, I think this is a quote from LBA1. When Baldino first introduced you to the proto-pack. This would explain why I don't remember clearly.

well,.... nope.
It's worthless getting the radio, because Baldino and Zoé can call you on it even if you didn't.

Where DID the quote originate from then?

I've got the feeling I heard this quote when I played LBA2 last time. I'll check later.

I'm 99% sure I've heard this in-game somewhere, but I suppose it's been so long I could just remember it from seeing it on the quotes section here at MBN.

Call Baldino using the communication device in the cellar! I don't remember exactly what he said when you call him, but I remember something about the portable radio and the proto-pack being said after you've returned the car part.

That made him say this for me:
Quote:
Hello! Twinsen, Baldino here! How are you? Looks like this transmitter works!
If you swing by, I have a portable radio to give you.
Also, I will have the proto-pack finished soon.
It will allow you to fly in complete safety. Over!

He does say something complicated when speaking about the proto-pack in LBA1, but I don't remember that quote ingame aswell.

This quote is supposedly from LBA 2, not LBA 1. And yes, when you call him from Citadel Island he says what J_McKalling said.

I just looked back, and Baldino doesn't say the quote in LBA1 when you give him the hairdryer. So I honestly don't know when it's said, eventhough I remember it from somewhere... Might indeed be from a quotes listings, not sure.

This wouldn't be the only quote in the quotes database that doesn't appear in the final game. (We should really check whether the voice files contain unused sound as well.)

According to HomerSimpson's post, this specific quote was recorded.

What other quotes are in the files but not in the game?

The owner of the hacienda (who disappears after the crash-land on Twinsun) has a quote about shutting down the turkish bath.
Quote:
at Island of the White Leaf Desert
It's depressing. There's nobody left, so obviously business is down. Then the Esmers come and shut my Turkish bath down. I don't get it!
(You can also tell this is from the bar owner because the preceding quote is definitely from him, and LBA 2 groups quotes by speaker in the list.)
