I'm playing F-Zero Now, although I only realy bought the GBA for the new Bomber Man & Sonic games.

Atresica - You see, err...emulators arn't exactly the most portable things in the world are they?
Anyway, I downloaded one as well and I could only find 'demo' games for it.

Right... £79.99 for a li'l piece of plastic crap... why is it that everyone overlooks the fact that those graphics look like they come from the 80s? Grrrrr get a bloody PC why don't you...

<defensive mode>
You forget the following:

play up to 4 players
high resolution
32000 colors
10 buttons
works on 2 batteries app. 15h
adaptable on GC (gamecube)

AND THIS ON A 'PIECE OF PLASTIC' measuring 12x6 cm AND WEIGHING 150 G

that is REVOLUTIONARY man, it's not A PIECE OF PLASTIC

believe me, it's faaaaaar better than pc. Can you like get a coke, lie in your couch with your fave music on and A PC? I think not... Even a laptop would be highly incomfortable...

Now do I make myself clear?
</defensive mode>

LOL sorry if it sounded rude, but the 'piece of plastic' sound just pisses me off

You seem to be missing the point:
ITS VERY PORTABLE!!!!!!!!!!

and the graphics are between SNES & Satturn quality (both came out in the 90's). Try playing the Tony Hawk game on it, those graphics are PS1 quality just with a fixed camera angle.
I'd like to see Dark Arena running on an 80's machine

err...I think everyone here has a PC (or Mac).

It seems like a great thing to me... and they've released it just in time, before the summer vacation. It seems very handy to me if you have to go somewhere and you've got nothing to do...

For home, I'll always use my PC. But I can imagine you like a GBA. Well, I won't buy one because I'm poor

The only thing I care about is that the machine is between the snes and saturn, and the snes is my favorite console ever

Don't tell me
My friends thought they were funny and give me 50 guilders (23 euro or something) of exchange.
I used it to buy a ticked for PinkPop, you should have seen the look of the lady behind the counter in the post office

I'm sorry if it was a bit blunt but I have a hatred of all things console, especially portable ones. £80 is a lot of money for a portable game system.

Its graphics may be good for a portable system, but compared to anything more serious they're crap and I'd rather save up for a PC...

That's why I use the emu, the games are good but I rather have a little bit money left for my PC games (who are IMO already too expensive)

Whenever we're talking about computer games, all my console-based friends haven't got more than a few games, because only recently have console platforms lasted any length of time at all, and each game is over £40 - ridiculous. I usually pay around £30 for a PC game (or £25 off the internet). Over time I've probably spent less, relatively, on my PC.

Kieron -Yes the GBA is quite expensive, that is its main problem. But you said it looked like it had 80's graphics, and I own two machines from the 80's (Commadore/plus4 & NES) and it looks much better. Check out the pictures of Dark Arena, easily 486 PC quality.(what does graphics matter anyway?)
And why do you keep acting as thought its PC or Console?
I have both, yet I'm not rich. I'm simple sensable with what I buy.
I bought a N64 when they where going out of fansion, (costing me £60 instead of £250) and N64 games last much longer then the average PC game (RPG's excluded).
The GBA is one of the only machines I bought when its new, but its it amazing piece of Tech. I managed to do 3 laps of F-Zero in the time it takes for my PC to boot.

GBA is too out of date in my opinion. In this day and age, I expect a system, portable or not, to at least be able to do "real" 3D with proper polygons. Nintendo know they are alone in the handheld market, and so they produce over-priced and under-powered cack like GBA...yes, I love SNES games, but.....hello 2001??

GBA can do polygons, but only flat shaded.
Nintendo's GBA is a the cutting edge of hand-held abilitys.
You can't just 'shrink' technology and expect the same power.
Yes, chips are small & cheap. But the faster they are the more they need to be cooled down.
A GBA with a fan?
Nope, that would be stupid.
1st Generation 3D GBA games:

Yeah, I think so... LBA1 only needs a 486, so yeah, maybe.
