Cannot get Wannie fragment

Hi y'all,

I ran into some trouble while playing LBA2 recently, and I thought some folks here might be able to help out.

I'm going back to collect all of the key fragments (that I neglected to collect the first time around) before going back to Twinsun... I'm in the Wannie mine, and I am face to face with the Wannie fragment, but I can't seem to grab it. It just sits there, spinning on its platform.

Unfortunately, I have no Saved Games earlier than a few boards ago, and I had beaten the Wannie guard long before then (I assumed I'd be able to take the piece later, or maybe that I wasn't supposed to take it at all!), so if I wanted to get back to this part of the game I'd have to play all the way back from Dino-Fly getting struck by lightning!

Does anyone have any ideas of what could be going on here? I thought that I'd just be able to walk up to it and be told "You've got the fragment!" but I can't even jump onto the platform. Should I try to reach it with the sword? Throw a dart at it? Call the Ferryman???

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers!

Stand in front of the fragment and press W, or go into normal mode and press the spacebar. You should see a little cutscene when you do it correctly.

"Press W"?? "Press W" is the solution to the mystery that's been plaguing me for an entire day??? This far in the game, and "Press W" doesn't occur to me?!?!?!?!

Thanks, Kobold. I appreciate you putting me on the right track again.

Sincerely,

Did you know you can do that too with explosions? Like the pieces of a pistolazer lazerbeam or a nitro-meca pinguin? Very convenient if you are out of magic

Aye, but I noted about the magic ball, you probably don't use the ball if you can just do that.
Btw, I almost never use the space in normal mode, I always use W because I'm more often in Sporty mode. I guess I didn't got used to the normal mode way in LBA1 while I played 2 first.

First time I played I didn't know about this w thing, so I switched between normal and athletic all the time. Was kind of annoying.
Anyway, I use numpad 0 instead of w.

I configured most other games' controls where it was possible to work like LBA 2.
