Sorry to neglect this thread for so long, I've been a tad busy

Here's an updated version of the Spanish file, based on the "Lite" version.

(The only change seems to be the line "Buy the Complete Version", which I changed accordingly)

Also, maybe I'm late to this but I want to point out a visual glitch.

As you can see in the picture below, the text is larger than the boxes (at least in the spanish version of Boxon-Lite). Any way to solve that?

(That's the text for the "Screen Setup" option)

Yes, I played it and I like it!
I just have a question about the language .txt template file, where I can find it so I could start translating?

On Windows XP, you could open the folder %APPDATA%, browse to bOxOn, and there they are. On Windows 7, I'm not sure the appdata variable works.

The problem exists also in Polish version, I've told about it some time ago:

Maybe the size of the buttons could be made dependant on the length of the actual (translated) word on it?
Assuming the words don't exceed certain limits..

@J McKalling: Thank you for the info!

Here`s the Bulgarian translation + flag. I saved the text file with UTF-8 encoding. I hope that there will be no problem with the Cyrillic letters.

That would be the best solution, I guess!
This same problem occurs, also in the screen setup menu, for the word "centralizado" in the portuguese version.

5 dollars seems fine. I thought the game was going to cost more

Is it ok for you ?
Page Up and Page Down keys are very useful indeed. I didn't know you could those too. Never mind

EDIT!!
I'm still testing the game on my "not meant for playing" laptop. Works perfectly with the 640x480 compatibilty mode, and doesn't give that problem about creating new txt files anymore. But my laptop has no pag up and pag down keys, so skipping from level 5 to level 170 for exemple takes a lot of time. perhaps you should consider mapping some other keys for the same purpose? Just giving some advices, you're the expert here!

I think he put ENOUGH options for the mere task of scrolling if you ask me... I mean, you can use the arrow keys, WHAT ELSE DO YOU WANT?
And if your laptop also does not have arrow keys, well... >_<

Of course, we are happy to pay for anything fun on any platform we have.
But I did read that Android games make more money from intergrated advertising then direct sales. (which is the opersite of the iOS).

arrow keys are damn slow, and I'm using a 640x480 resolution, thus I only see two levels per line. Scrolling from level 1 to 100 using the arrow keys takes 32 seconds (timed it)

This keyboard actually has a pag up and pag down key: you have to press the arrow keys while pressing the FN key, but for some reason it doesn't work ingame. I guess it's because of the Windows Starter OS.

Again, I'm not using this pc to play, and I don't know how many people out there will use this game on a laptop like this, so I don't know how important is this little "issue"

Hm.
Perhaps a good solution would be to add a box named "jump to lvl" where you can type in the level number?

And when you hit enter, it doesn't go straight to the level, simply highlights it in the menu, as if you had scrolled all the way to it.

Something like this:

I haven't seen the full version yet, but why isn't a scrollbar good enough?
If playing on a pc, you can use the mouse to drag the scrollbar, and on an iPad, you can tab the screen to drag it.

*Edit:
And on a 'laptop' that doesn't have a mouse, the touchpad replaces the iPad screen.

a textbox seems too unprofessional... A scrollbar or shortcut buttons like "100" - "200" - "300" etc would look nicer, I think.

New Version

Hello !

I uploaded a new lite version, and resend a new full version to all registered users

Check your language files, please.

Now menu texts are displayed in white color if the boxonite they are on is dark.

Too large words are a problem. I'll try this week to enlarge the menu or make it automatic (but it means other probs).

There are also words (or short sentences) in the levels list that are really too long, and there is nothing I can do here.

Is it possible to put just one word like: Time and Best Time can be Time and Best (we then guess it's for time) ?

Bulgarian is added but like Chinese and Hebrew you must add a localized font (one from your Windows/Fonts directory) in the User bOxOn directory if you want it to be displayed in the language menu.

FRed.

It seems feasible to replace too long words with some synonyms in Polish version... I have a few ideas, but I'm not sure if they're "technically" correct. Could someone who speaks Polish check them?

Could it work if longer words would just scroll from left to right if they don't fit the button? They could fade out on the sides of the button. I think I've seen that done in some games.

Oh, is that how it works in LBA?
Then it won't work. Forget scrolling.

I made a slight correction in the translation, so the words won`t come out of the boxes. Also fixed a typo. What font are you using? I could add the cyrillic (and if you need, others also) letters in it if you share it. It`ll be fun and will put in use the lectures on typography and font creation I had at he university. BTW, I saw somewhere an explanation how to register for the full version, but I can`t find it now. Can anyone point out the post with the instructions?

Hi, thanks, send me a private message with your name and email.

I'll send you the bOxOn font. We already added the ń that was missing in it for our Polish mates. You know (yes you should if you learned this) it's a huge work but I'd be glad of it. And then (if the size is not a matter) the Bulgarian version will be selectable without the font "cheat" !
