Odd for the Chinese add to be the most realistic :P

How many maH are they?

I had some rechargeable that were 2750mAH hours that already impressed me quite a bit given that most used to be 2000mAH or less.

As for the US/English website difference its because theres a little known secret: Americans are scared of 'u's. Terrified, in fact!
If any Americans are readying this "Colour" will scare them away! :P

Fishos you do realize that those differences might be due to different energy saving standards for devices in those countries?

Just saying.

But yeah, all these "different" versions of English on websites are just stupid.

"You do realize" ... no, actually, didn't realize that. Maybe you're right.

Darkf - The difference in the English versions is not just the text/spelling, it's the whole design.

Pretty amazing thing for one guy to make.

I REALLY don't want Google's Privacy Policy following me everywhere and recording everything I see and hear...

Have you ever read Googles Privacy Policy? Its pretty simple/well laid out, so I recommend it.

I know exactly what Google records from my Android phone (at least from a legal standpoint) - my phone number. Thats it. The market will record my purchases (I haven't made any), and it has my google account (because I logged in).
But thats really it.
In theory a Android user could isolate themselves from Google completely if you just avoid googles apps that need a login. (Google Goggles does not)

If I signed onto Google Latitude they would indeed know my location - so I didn't.

This is a good place to track what Google knows:
https://www.google.com/dashboard/?hl=en
(I'd like too see all companies have this)

These AR specs are 90% certain to be running Android so it should be the same. Avoid Googles logins and you just have a linux based OS effectively.

Most things in that video shouldn't need any personal information anyway. No more then a typical phone with email.

And even if you really dont trust google (please try reading other privacy policies btw - PayPals one actually tells you explicitly they sale your information on), its at least extra competition in a sector that needs it.

I have to admit that Dashboard thing is pretty neat.

You can't blame me for being paranoid though, Google is still pretty scary. (and for that matter, so is this crazy futuristic human augmentation technology - what would my grandfather say when people start walking around with those!)

Ok ok, you convinced me, I'll totally get one of those, it actually looks PERFECT.

Nothing wrong with being paranoid - just spread it over a few companies :P
Google deserves a share, but so do plenty of others.

This one recently scared me a bit:
http://www.businessinsider.com/girls...one-app-2012-3

Sure, all the information they give up publicly....but did they know they were doing that?
Now imagine this with ar.

Did you see the How I Met Your Mother episode about exactly this with AR (in the year 2030)? I lol'd when the computer analyzed the dog and linked to his facebook page.

This would be pretty amazing for dating. Ups "online dating" to a whole new level.

But yeah, people should know they're participating in this, the way it is now is just abusive. Maybe that would help raise awareness to the issue of online privacy.

.
Forgot about that, yes
(I hope they have more of those future clips - its been renewed for 2 more seasons, and this rate the show will catch up with 2030 in real time :P)

Also reminds me of Person of Interest (which got a bit better, btw) where they reveal that NotBen...
Spoiler:
Actually invented social networks purely to gather data for his machine

This much older one is better:
http://vimeo.com/8569187
(seriously the press coverage of this has no sense of history of these concepts....)

Also,if its anything like Android the advertising on the main apps will be zero to very very low. Mostly 3rd party games have banner adverts.

However...
..we need gprs connection or better for a lot of the internet functions when out and about. Thats pricey for constant access.
Remember ye-old net days? Freeserve? etc? Connections that are free but spam you with adverts?
I can see that happening.

If the choice is between Apple and Google and Microsoft, it's easy to pick a side I'd say. Did you hear that Microsoft will block out alternative operating systems on Windows 8 ARM machines?

Google glasses do look pretty cool but I wish they'd focus their efforts on bringing google music to the uk instead... Or for that matter making a proper version of android for my touchpad. I love cm9 but all the updates have stopped

That might be more the fault of the manufacturer of the pad. Google releases the software open source, then its upto the hardware makers to do their own updates.

Its been a long time coming in fiction, but I guess rare earth minerals are getting expensive enough for it too suddenly be worth it.
Combined with the recent discovery that the earth occasionally catches small "mini moons" in its orbit anyway, space is probably looking quite profitable.

The glass will be amazing for solar panels on planetary rovers and probes!
I can also actually imagine it on just about anything, from plates, bowls and all sorts of cuttlery (to minimize the water usage while cleaning) to even car windshields and glassess...
