Broken Sword 2.5 - Not bad for a fan game. A little short and too easy maybe, but in some parts it really felt like playing a real Broken Sword game.

playing Ghost Pirates of Vooju Island. Nice concept, and I love the graphics (same artist of Curse of Monkey Island, the style now used in all the games and remakes). Puzzles are a little random sometimes, but it looks nice till now. I'll give a full rating when I'm done. Then i'll try Vampyre Story

I recently got myself a 3DS XL (YAYYYYYYY) with what seems to be the standard starter kit : Zelda Oracle of Ages and Mario Kart 7. That Zelda game is excellent. The 3d is awesome, the game is immersive, the scenario is a classic "save the world", I'm getting a little tired of it, but it is all so well-done... I've only played 2d Zelda games up to now, and it was really fun to discover how only a change in the point of view can change the game

As for Mario kart, nothing new here, almost the same as the wii, with some minor changes, personalisable karts, 1,5 new objects, you can go under water and fly a bit in the sky, whole in all, nothing new. Maybe it's because I played it second, but the 3d here isn't a must, as you have to focus all the time.
You won't be able to have even a little peek at anything else than the race itself.

As for the consol itself, I must recharge it very often, the in-built and downloadable games (the demos for free) are nice, and such a big screen !
I'm really curious to see what the homebrews will look like, nobody could hack the 3ds for the moment, but like everything, it's only a matter of time...

Yeah, I cant wait for homebrew either - I am sure using the internal camera you could headtrack to improve the 3D.
Btw, my code is:1118-0281-3634 if you want to friend me!

My first 3DS friend ^^
My friend code is 4468-2324-3552
That headtrack idea sounds interesting !
Seriously, why is nintendo protecting their consol so hard ? I read somewhere that the fact that the DS was so easily hackable in fact helped the sales.
Anyway, do you know any good program/games from the e-shop ?

We can't share the same name through different devices.

Its just like a phonenumber, once its entered into your device you barely ever see it again these days.
You can still have any name you want associate with that number - when the systems confirm eachother, a temp name switchs for whatever ascii name you called your system.

The only downside I see is theres only one account per-system, not a issue really on a handheld, but a console should support multiple family members each with their own IDs.

Game piracy sadly was very high on the DS in the last few years, it annoyed a lot of publishers.
Still, thats all the more reason to have homebrew in there by design, as most of the "crackers" arnt the people pirating. Give a legimate way to run homebrew, and they wont try cracking it wide open for Roms.

Anyway you want:
* Video Channel (Nintendo video or something - get 4 random 3d videos a week. Mostly lame stuff, but sometimes you get awesomeness. Theres been 3D short indie films, for example, and the Aardman Shaun The Sheeps were fun)

* LetterBox (what Picochat should have been on the DS :P, basicly a doddling messenger app)

Demos:

*Crush 3D is fun, and the Resident Evil demo is very impressive.
Maybe Heroes of Ruin too.

Hmmm either way doesn't seam to be a good choice.

For example, I have my nickname attached to PS3, PSVita, XBox, iPhone, iPad and everyone can add me the friend request using the same ID. If I have a friend in one system I can always have a chance to get that friend in the other system with the same name. Of course there are always exceptions, but for me it makes sense to always use the same.

I have nintendo video but it says that the service isn't available at my location
I don't get it... Isn't it on the internet anyway ?
I put Hungary as my location first, then when the consol said that the e-shop isn't available there, I changed it to France and there ! Had access to the e-shop...
Any ideas why they do that ?

Nintendo video updates weekly by internet and also if you happen to pass somewhere broadcasting a vid. Its certainly region specific over the net as the videos are a bit different in different countries....but to not have anything is weird.

eShop is more just a language setting thing I think. They are selling full first party games on it...be really dumb move if theres regions it doesn't support.

Well, the 3DS is region locked up the arse. Not even wireless play with systems from different regions works.

The language can be chosen differently, I had it set in french all along.
By wireless, you mean in local ? I couldn't play Mario Kart in local with a Japanese ?! Wow... I hope homebrews will be able to bypass that

We tried hosting a download play game of Mario Kart 7 from a North American 3DS and download the game from a European 3DS. It wasn't even being detected.

Reading about its a bit stupid: Download play is region locked, Online multiplayer is not.
Some security reasons.

What about wireless local play if you have 2 game cards and don't use the download function?
