I want to watch TV online...

Smallville, to be specific. At the moment anyways... But generally, are there any good sites for finding TV shows I can watch live stream?

It's driving me crazy.

Well, most people just download torrents. They are higher quality than streaming anyway...

Can't even remember the names of the streaming sites, but it would be illegal anyway I think.

And torrents would be legal? I think not...

I'm having trouble with torrents anyways, they just don't start downloading, I'm stuck on 0% for ages.

Well, you are actually just in general asking for something illegal right? I suppose there are LEGAL tv show streamers, just never heard of them.

But anyway, since torrents aren't illegal per say, I would recommend that you try using Azureus as you're program.

Except that I'm having trouble with Azureus atm.
Once it's started, within 10 seconds, it crashes.
Apparently it's got to do with Java or some crap.

Search ISOHunt or MiniNova and download the torrent with most seeds. You can also register a private tracker and then you'd get download on max speed.

Or even better, use RevConnect.

On some TV networks it's also possible to watch whole episodes straight from the official site (for example abc.com and nbc.com) with just a USA proxy.

US proxis that support video streams are few and far between.

I hate these "this content is only avaible in the us" streams.
Why cant the idiots realise that if they want people to stop using illegal streams they need to treat the world equaly.

It must be out of their hands. They won't be able to sell their goods to other countries if everyone would have (legal) access to it for free.

And here's a US proxy that works: 64.89.207.75:80

Who said for free?
Even paid for streams are normally us only. (eg, try buying a US show on Itunes, or some GoogleVideo stuff).

I dont think its the websites fault as such, its the stupid contracts and regions distributors force into contracts.

Its got to end.

Skype isnt crap in the slightest, p2p telephony offers huge benifits when you are low on bandwidth.
Sure, most of us on BB it dosnt mater, but the technology means it actualy works pretty good on dialup.
The same principle, applied to video, will work very well for high quality broadband streams. (If there was something to watch)

Plus, being able to call any landline in the world for about 1p a minute is great value, imho.

Veoh is ok, Stage6 is by far the best thing ever quality wise, however.
But these are all just evolutions of you-tube really.
For proper internet tv we really need direct payment to producers of shows.
People uploading illegaly, them being taken down, and being uploaded again isnt really a stable situation.

So I assume you never used the industry standard called SIP?
Skype is nothing more than a glorified teamspeak/ventrilo/... piece of software.

since when could you phone land-lines with teamspeak and ventrillo?

also TS and Ventrilo need you to host a server, whereas skype has a free commercial server.

I'm pretty sure I said "glorified".

Also, skype does not actually connect with "land-lines". Dialing a "land-line" is done through a proxy that converts your call. You connect to the proxy and give it a number to dial for you.
You can do similar tricks with teamspeak or ventrilo where you connect to a proxy server and join a channel with the phone number you want to dial.
