When you were young...

It was so much easier to get excited.

It was like

OMG, THEY'RE MAKING LBA2!!! FAP FAP FAP

OMG, THEY'RE MAKING A MORTAL KOMBAT MOVIE!!! FAP FAP FAP

It's just not like that these days.

Yeah, when I see my girlfriend I still get excited like a 13-year-old except now I have something to do with my hard on...:P

Seriously though, I mean, I still get pretty excited about stuff. Real life kind of subdues things (work, papers, etc.), but I still get pumped.

Yeah I get excited too, but I guess as you get older you get excited about different stuff.
When you're younger it's games and toys etc, when you're older it's more like buying new cars.

I didn't say that now i'm some frigid guy or something, just that it's not the same.

Also, achieving exciting things these days is harder to achieve
(love, getting your dream job, or whatever floats your boat)

I mean, I remember that i was very excited when i was told i'd be made a drill commander (you could even say i was like "omfg, fap fap fap"), but that's something that's much rarer, compared to having a game you like coming out.

I don't know, I think it just depends on the person. I still get psyched like a little kid when I buy a new game I've been waiting ages for (like a new Zelda) and smell the fresh, new plastic when I first crack the seal on the container...;D

I love the smell of new games.

But it's true, I don't really play many games anymore.
I just got bored of them.

Actually this is an interesting topic. If we find why older people get less excited, we can find a solution!

Decreased blood flow to the extremities. The answer is Viagra.

I have to agree somewhat.

I used to go crazy about games, but now even the best o the best do not set me on fire.

I was so excited about this that I looked up fap in the dictionary. It didn't tell me anything new, but it was a funny experience.

well, I had less problems when I was young, my biggest problem was like that I had to sleep early. :P But yeah, they say that your childhood is the most happiest time in your life, no pressure, no responsibility, just chilling and playing without all the dishonesty you see now.

It doesn't feel like it was me several years ago...
0-3 years: Innocent, curious me.
4-8: Playful, sensitive, lively me.
9-15: Nonchalant, sensitive me.
16-19: Mature, open-minded, cool-headed me.

These were those days of mine... I thought it'd be fun to be excited over many things constantly, but I only get over a few nowadays. Still, I try hard sometimes and am glad it entirely hasn't passed out.

It's true. I really wish I could get excited about all the stuff you're supposed to as an "adult" and all the things I used to get excited about as a kid. Or maybe I just want to be a 6 year old forever. I'm quite envious of my child-self, I want him back. He was much easier to please, and when a game or a film or a piece of music did please him, it did it much more intensely than it does now.

"Excited" "pleasing" and "intense" make this post look unintentionally sexual. Gwaa.

That's true.

I was playing Uncharted the other day and I felt like I was inside an India Jones movie.

I was so thrilled that I nearly jumped up and down.
Whatyu know, after all these years I can still get excited and recieve much pleasure at such an old age.
