Perhaps this explains something about LBA an the GBA

I just wrote Fred an eMail, and about 20 minutes later, I got an answer from him.
So here is what he wrote:

Hi Philipp,

Many people from the former team of LBA are still (or will be back in September) with me at No Cliché. Just one guy from the former team left us to set up back Adeline software. Wait until September to see our new web site (you'll see the list of people). What I know (to be confirmed) is that Adeline software wants to do a conversion of LBA 1&2(at the same time) on GBA. I think they have no plan yet for a big game as LBA3. Delphine software (owners of Adeline software and LBA rights) is a very small company.

regards,
Frederick.

Hi Frédérick!

I just read an interview with you on an LBA fan page. According to this, it is very unlikely that you will ever develop LBA 3. Is this true? If yes, why don't you just go back to Adeline?

Greetings

Philipp

A conversion of LBA 1 and 2?
How do they want to do that?

That's not so hard, just LBA on a small screen.

Hm... We'll have to wait longer than 2005 for LBA3 then I guess...

Thats much better!!!
I always thought that a GBA could handle a LBA1 conversion.
There wouldn't be any cutscenes, but at least it will still be a 'Fred' class game.
Lets hope that make an exact conversion of LBA1, and don't cut corners anywhere. If you have seen Tony Hawks 2 for GBA, you'll know it can handel isometrix games very well.
LBA2 will be a bit harder....

Good good. LBA *4* on the GBA would have been a disaster.

Here's something new:

You're welcome, sometimes I get little spare time.

I don't believe I'll be able to make LBA3. I wait for news from Delphine Software until the end of this year, and then I'll start to explain what are the Stellar Entity and Sendells, why Funfrock is so bad and crazy...
But anyway, I'm writing a complete new story (with new worlds, characters, gameplay, style,...) which will be an LBA like game, one hundred times better !

Frederick.

Hi Frederick!

Thanks for this fast answer!
So do you think there will be a chance that you will make LBA 3?

Greetings

Philipp

Sp perhaps no new LBA, but another good game...
Although I really would like a new LBA...

I bet its going to have some LBA referances in it.
Maybe its set on that planet the tourists talk about on Zelich.

...I may be crazy, but I think a whole new world would be even better than LBA 3!

Yeah, perhaps it would be the same effect when playing LBA 1 for the first time...

...one hundred times better.

... this sounds good. If he truly busts a gut it should be excellant. I'm not clear though... if he is explaining the Stellar Entity etc... to Delphine, does this mean LBA3 will still be under consideration?

I'm glad for this news anyhow .

True, so true... it must be damn good if it's supposed to be a worthy sequel to LBA1, in which LBA2 already almost "failed".

A new story has so much more posibilities.

Isnt Tom Hall the one who made commander keen and Wolfenstein?

I hope Delphine will make LBA 3.
But as Fred said he doesnt think he can .
But I'd like to see that new game he is making the story of .

WOW! there great graphics!
but it's a platformer we don't want Lba to be a Platformer, it's an Adventure Genre, I doubt that the graphics will look as good on adventure type games.

look they wont be making a new game. they are just converting so it will have the same graphics and another thing is that it will be in the same mode as in lba 1&2 and not a platformer
