Nout's LBA 3 project

Hi,

I'm a newbie, just 1 month on this forum
I've requested to start a project on this forum, but did not get a place, so I decided to start here and give it some time

My goal is to make an LBA like game, based on the RF engine
First models are ready. As soon as I have figured out why the uploading of pictures always fails, I'll post my pics here

I'm solo on this project, but anyway you'll hear and see more of me soon. People who want to contribute are welcome.
I still need about everything, so choices enough

hmz..sure you dont want to help with one of the other LBA3 projects going around?
Might be easier if you teamed up.
Without wishing to sound rude, we have had a hell of a lot of people start a project only a drop it a few months later.

No problem to team up if we have a similar goal
But where do I find these other projects?

All I've seen in the project section seems to make no progress??
My goal is to complete this year, not in 2007 or so

I've seen that one and downloaded it
Unfortunately it crashes

Here a first room. It uses a slightly modified Twinsen model from night000. All other models are my own development.

Well, that's beautiful Nout.
I really hope to see a game like that....but, what's an RF engine?

I thought RF means Reality Factory. It's a freeware 3D engine (I guess).

He uses a totaly different engine based on openGL and Delphi, not compatible with the engine I use + where a lot of additional programming is required for the features an RPG needs

Maybe we can share some resources, but probably not much more. My focus is the game, not the programming

Cool - I'll be keeping an eye on this one! There are a number of character models which have already been made for the RMP why don't yoou ask their owners about using them?

Models might be a bit too high-res though

Sure, I also think 800 000 polygons for a simple pot of flowers is far too much. I hope your engine is performant

To keep sufficient high speed, I need everywhere low-poly actors

Here another picture of my last days work

Really nice.
The sea texture works well, but the building texture is looking too "harshly" repeated.

Anyway, textures can be modified easily later, best to worry about getting the movement, ball dianamics ect first.

If anybody has/can create good high-res textures to imprvove the buildings, it's sure welcome !

End of the week I hope to have a bit more extensive screen of this level

Any suggestions for improvements / new ideas are welcome

Also if you have a nice piece of story to add to my "Nout's LBA" scenes, don't hesitate.
All your realizable ideas are very welcome !

Thanks for any comments. They only can support me to improve!

To progress faster, I still look for good LBA-like high-res textures
Anything that can help me is welcome !!
