I played LBA2 first. I got it by chance, and at first glance I didn't like it. I thought: "another boring game". But later I loved it. Then I desired to get LBA1, and I saw, that even though it had worse graphics, it had the same or better plot.

Your library had LBA? Neat.
I played LBA 2 first and loved it, for a while I had no idea that there was a first one.

My library has/had (don't know) LBA2 as well (boroughed it for three weeks ), but I played it first when a friend showed it to me.

Later I got LBA2 (EA classics edition) from a toy shop.

I played first LBA1, when it came out, and LBA2 when it came out too.

Rented LBA2 sometime in the library (Assassin, you too? ), loved the game. (That was 1998 or so.) Was amazed to find it in a local cd shop for $10.
In the search for LBA1 I bought it from some guy through some sort of eBay, for just $5 .

So first LBA2, then LBA1.

Got LBA1 way back in early 1995. Then got LBA2 on the day of it's release in 1997.

I played a demo of, according to the magazine where the demo came, "Twinsen´s Odyssey 2" ( ) and loved it. Then I bought the full game (not very cheap it was). I didn´t have the internet skills I have today back then. Then I met this guy who actually played Relentless (wow!), a cracked and messed up version, unhappily, that gave me some diskettes with an ARj compacted crack. I didn´t play it much, because it was very unstable. Years later, some friend of mine found a brazilian webpage with a cracked, working version of LBA1, which I downloaded, and that´s how I played it. In one week it was over. I lamentate a lot that I was never able to play the original LBA1, but that´s just life.

So, in short, LBA2 was first.

Bought LBA1 PC in 1996 at an Argos store in the UK I didn't understand what the game was about, merely bought it because I liked Twinsen's tunic :P I forgot about the game after that. When I did actually play the game it didn't work on my PC (the Windows problem etc.) For some reason I really wanted to play the game. In late 1998 I found LBA2 in a shop here in Saudi (surprising). I bought it, thinking that I might as well play the sequel if the first game isn't working. Then, I was out one night, still didnt install LBA2, when I found LBA1 for PSX in a games shop! I convinced my reluctant parents to buy the game, thinking I was the luckiest person in the world So, actually, I managed to play LBA1 first, then LBA2

I got LBA1 first; for some reason it didn't have sound effects or voices. Then it kept crashing at Bu and I didn't get further. Then I got LBA2, which worked with sound effects and voices, and completed it. I then managed, somehow, to get LBA1 working on the computer again, and completed it. About a year ago, I bought LBA1 for the Playstation to hear the sound effects and because LBA1 for the computer was crashing yet again. By now I've completed both games a few times.
So, to cut a long story short, I started LBA1 before LBA2, but finished LBA2 before LBA1!

I played LBA2 first and fell in love with it. Too the point where I was playing it continously every single day. Then I got LBA1 from CDaccess.com or as I like to call it, ` my savoir `

After i got stuck in the fortress, i started lba2, (bought it the moment it came out , i was in frace at the time) and finished it.
after about a year i finished lba1.

I didn't lba2 existed, untill i saw it in a shop.
I almost had a heart attack.

Talking

cool, everyone seems to have a 'library-thing' going on with lba2!
Well, me too. Our little library had a few games, and lba2 was one of them. Me and my brother played it for a week or something...it's the best game i've ever played . After a year I found lba1 on ebay and bought it-but it didn;t work in windows. And now i found this site, al my troubles are gone! (thanks again)
So me too first LBA2 then LBA1

Had lba1 in 96 and 2 in 97

So what did you guys think when you played LBA1 AFTER lba2?

Which one is the best for you?

I still prefer lba1, so dark, so original.

lba 2 for me first...

Offtopic---> you guys have libraries that let you borrow games? Back in my day, libaries only lent books.

Seriously, that's cool, we don't have that here.

I played LBA2 first.

I don't know which I like more. LBA1 really looks like a place where you can live but it looked so cold (not in temperature). LBA2 doesn't look really like a place to live. Hardly real houses. But I liked the weapons. I really missed the blowtron/gun.

The only reason why I liked LBA2 better was because I played it first.
LBA1 was amazing on so many levels ... but I think since after playing the second one first I expected to much out of it.
