Fix for LBA2 display problem

Îf LBA2 screen is garbled and the bottom side of display is black, and you can't solve the problem by changing Windows display driver settings, try this fix. To apply it, download the attached file, unzip it to LBA2 directory and run PATCH.EXE.

I wonder what was the source of the problem, because I've got similar troubles with some other old games, like Discworld 2, for example... Maybe your solution will work for them as well.

Yay, thanks Funny Frog, it works perfectly...
Well, almost perfectly, after about 10 seconds of play, the sound goes all weird, and it doesn't work, and it makes funny, muffled noises. Very strange.

I'm using a SBPCI128, perhaps you could help me?

I have tried using the compatability modes in just about every possible combination, but it doesn't work.

Have you changed the compatibility settings back to defaults?
Are the latest SoundBlaster drivers installed?
Try lowering hardware sound acceleration level with DirectX diagnostic tool (Start - Run - dxdiag).

I'm sorry, it won't. The patch only changes some code in LBA2 and doesn't touch anything else in the system. It is probably possible to write similar patches for other games, but they will be game-specific. I don't know whether a generic solution can be found.

Excellent work! But this not only seems to fix problems on Geforce-cards, but also for Matrox. I'm using a Matrox G400 DH on Win2k and thanks to this handy patch, I got rid of the display probs. You could add that to the Patch.txt.

How do I uninstall the patch becouse since Ive installed it I can play Civ3 the picture becomes scrambled?
