help needed!! sound problem

I am having trouble with LBA2.
I have the patch file for the geforce2 and the graphic is ok.

my PC are using windows Xp, Geforce FX 5200.
but my sound is terible, the Twinsen's steps sound are not fine, the music sometimes are so incomplete, and it was almost all the noise sound all over.

Since i think that the nicest part is the music and the sound, there is no point playing it when the sound problem like this.

please help me!! anyone, coz this is the first game and my most favourite game i hadn't ever played, i still liked this game very much!!

LOL, anyone notices that almost all PC's today have the same configutation: WinXP and a GeForce graphics card.

Anywayy, try getting newer drivers for your sound card, this usually fixes such problems. Also, check, if you have DirectX version at least 3, otherwise, LBA 2 won't properly work.

my directX is 9.b is the second newest, and my sound dirver is newer than the game.

Download DosBox, download VDMSound, install them, start DosBox, mount the CD, install the DOS version of the game, start SETSOUND.EXE, copy your old savegames here, and start the game.

have you tried installing the Geforce patch?

That might help as well.

Also, did you experience these kind of problems with any other games?
And do you have both a soundcard as an onboard-soundcard?
Those things might interfere too

yeah, i have on board sound card and external sound card, but that is my new motheboard, the old one don't have on-board-soundcard only external t but the problem is still the same.

I have the same problem. I also have WinXP and GeForce FX 5200. When people are talking to Twinsen, the music stops playing. May seem like a small problem, but actually it's quite annoying! As you mention, many of the movies are without sound too. But not all of them... Strange...
