Talking What are your favorite games ever?

Hi people!

I just want to know a little (big?) bit about you with the next easy to answer question: What are your favourite games ever?

Because we're in a LBA community the main game is obvious but who knows?, maybe you like more Tetris (I don't think so ).

Here is my list:

In first place Little Big Adventure 2 and 1 (in that order)
Some steps below second place for SimCity (especially SC3000)
And far far away (with no especial grade) :

- Metal Gear Solid
- GTA San Andreas
- The Sims 1 & 2
- Chronno Trigger
- Crash Bandicoot Warped

Bye! And like always sorry for my bad english, someday I'll learn

Tetris is OK, but Puyo Puyo is so much suppiour.
I also prefered Sim City 2000 to 3000. (2000 had Maxis man!)

Anyway, this threas been done before, but theres no harm in another;

-- Eternal Darkness - stunningly good servival horror game, very original and with one of the best told storys of any video game.

-- Beyond Good and Evil - short, but great, adventure game. Probably the nearest thing to a modern LBA there currently is.

--Legend of Zelda: Twlight Princcess - Evolutionary rather then revolutionary, but still the longest, most enjoyable hours of any game I have ever played. Truely epic, extremely diverse gameplay and with easily the best charecterisations of any Zelda game. (Midna probably having more charecter in her then all the other zelda charecters in all the previous games combined ). The only downside to the game is its a bit too easy for fans of the series.

Honorable Mention; Ocarina of Time, Majoras Mask, any other proper Zelda game.

--Prince of Persia: The Sands Of Time - a wonderfull story, superb script, fluid and downright cool gameplay. A little short.

--Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones -- taking everything great from the first two games of this set without making the horrible errors of the second. Longer then SoT, but with a still aswume story, witty dialogue and some truely epic moments. Great controlls too.

-- Mario & Lugia's : Superstar Saga (gba)- Extremely funny RPG with unique controlling-two-at-once platform elements. Very long, lots of great puzzles. The DS sequal sucked in comparison.

Honorable Mention; Paper Mario 2: The Thousand Year Door

Monkey Island (all) -- Fun adventure games, great humour.

Honorable Mention; The Discworld Games, DotT, Sam & Mac other P/C adventures

Especially children without legs. But not favorite. No favorite.

Play Beyond Good and Evil, then you will see just how bad Wind Waker actualy was in comparison
Then you will be able to look past the "it isnt cell shaded and dosnt look pretty" aspex of Twlight Princess and suddenly realise its 10 times the game Wind Waker. (quite litarly, remove the stupid fetch-quests and TWW could be done probably in less time then BG&E or even Sands of Time. TWW would be a so much better game if they didnt try to make it 40hours long. TP corrects TWWs mistakes and makes a game long without endless fetch quests, while also putting a lot more imaginative dungoens and bloody cool story.)

oh, and, Metroid rocks, but why only Prime and Super Metroid on your list?

Oh, I definitely love the other metroid games, but the design in super metroid and metroid prime is so perfect, and so timeless, I know I will never stop playing those two.
Sequence breaking and insanely deep play control = timeless.

As for Zelda, first I'll be honest in that I've never played beyond good and evil, I planned on buying it when it came out, but I just never did.. anywho, I'm sure I will one day.

But, I highly doubt it will top Wind Waker for me.
There is no other game in existence that can beat the world, culture and style in Wind Waker for me, and that's why I consider it the greatest game ever.
Yes, it was rather easy and you sailed for ages.. so?
I really don't care, I enjoyed every damn second of it.
They balanced the game perfectly, every weapon was vital and useful, every dungeon was actually fun and interesting, every island begged to be explored, etc.
I can go on and on and on about Wind Waker, but I'm sick of doing that, basically, I think just about everyone writes off Windwaker either because of it's ease, it's graphics, or the sailing, and they are all complete morons for doing so.

Twilight Princess on the other hand..
Good god, where do I start..
First, the game is completely, 100% shitty fanservice.
and when I say fans, I mean those retards that never stopped complaining about the abstract structure of Majoras Mask, the sailing/graphics in Wind Waker, or the fact Tingle existed.
They wanted the horse back, they wanted a teenage link, they wanted a hyrule field, lots of dungeons - they wanted ocarina of time again.
So that's what nintendo made.

the most unbalanced and stupid Zelda game to date.
I expect every single Zelda game to disappoint me after Wind Waker, because nothing will ever beat it for me, but TP has got to be the worst in the entire series, and I don't expect that to ever change.
Just look at the weapons in the game:
They are so out of balance, they even made the boomerang worthless outside of the few compulsory puzzles, then the clawshots might as well have been permanently set to a button.
Dungeons, way too fucking many of them.
I didn't enjoy a single one either, some of them had a few good ideas, but they were all generic and I just wanted to get them over with.
Plus, everything was a damn dungeon.
Oh, temple of time? cool..
...its another fucking dungeon
Oh, twilight realm? cool..
...its another fucking dungeon
Oh, hyrule castle? cool..
...its another fucking dungeon
I really think it got to a point where I'd consider TP a dungeon crawler, I think I spent more time in dungeons than outside, and that's terrible.
not surprisingly, I can go on and on and on about why I think TP sucked, but again I'm sick of doing it, because everyone is ignorant, everyone did want shallow sloppy shitty fanservice, and everyone did enjoy it.

I'll sum it up like this:
Wind waker: fresh, interesting, balanced.
Twilight Princess: Stale, generic, oh my god so unbalanced.

Majors Mask I liked a lot more than Ocarina of time, heart collecting is however easier in OOT, I actually got 20/20 . (and with the trick near the castle >100 Gold skulltulas)

My favorite games, let's say random order:
  • LBA1/2
  • Earthbound
  • Warcraft III
  • Starcraft
  • Grim Fandango
  • Civilization III
  • Ceasar III
