Yeah, I had to watch it in a film history class. It's pretty neat, way ahead of its time, and is composed of many stories like Aladdin.

Thought of a few excuse's to get it too; It looks like it comes with a spare wiimote battary back...given that one of mine is broken, I can use that one instead (probably).

Also, it makes those plastic add-ons even more pointless....now you can build your own!

Anyway, in other news, Kirby is looking insanely cool;

Well, I must confess I'm quite behind.
Just finished the story of Layton1, but got a lot of bonus puzzles and downloadable puzzles still to do.

The Professor Layton movie is running on the German station Super RTL today. My TV magazine said: "Hey writer, hands off the LSD!"

You still didn't play the second ? It's not bad, but the first is better (concerning the story, the riddles are as good as always)

Robox (WiiWare)

After a grueling, intense, month I've finally completed Robox.
Its kinda hard to some up, but its sure as hell giving me a good sense of accomplishment.
(despite still technically only being 67% done in terms of collectibles).
For a Wiiware game its pretty massive...and very hard.
Easily the hardest platform/shooter I've played. But not necessarily in a bad way.

The twist of having little puzzly sections inside yourself is particularly cool. (although I do wish it was used more).
I might try to play more over the next few weeks. Ive got a few more ability's to activate as well as the collectibles to get.
Apparently the first 10 people that get 100% will be on the credits to their next game.
(Based on their blog, I think only one person has done it so far :P)

I've written a full review of Robox here,
but to sum it up its probably worth getting if your up for a challenge and love big 2d metroid-esq games.

Professor Layton and the Eternal Diva was ... uhm ... go see it. Seriously. If you liked a Layton game, you should go watch it. Stays amazingly true to the game's concept with its riddle-solving, and the animation and music is pretty awesome. Not the best movie you've ever seen, well just like Layton isn't your favourite video game ever.

When you consider that the ending of Professor Layton & Pandora's Box was
Spoiler:
basically an LSD trip, you know that my magazine's accusation is a bit void.

lol, I was sooo dissapointed/furious when I discovered the end of Pandora's Box ^^

Well, The Eternal Diva isn't the greatest film ever, but it has that Layton atmosphere. It won't feel like a watse of time.

Ok, I could post a huge about of 3DS information thats poored out over the last weeks, but I can't be bothered.
Personaly, the system looks awesume to me but (unless your a streetfighter fan) the launch line up doesn't have anything compeling....a nice selection of built in small games though.
So I'll be sticking with my DS for awhile...especialy with Okami's sequal still to come out

Anyway, I'm bumping this thread for the most insanely awesome Zelda picture ever;

http://steam-punk.net/zelda_25th_anniversary.jpg

(too big to embed directly, but seriously...this thing is frelling fantastic)

Nintendo 3DS
I went to my local electronics store, played some demos, and then parted without one. Mostly because there's not a single interesting game. Com'on, Rayman 2 remade again? The Aeroplane mini-game from Sports Resort masquerading as "Pilot Wings"? Street Fighter in Crap-o-vision?

The 3D effect was underwhelming. I've been told my squinting has part to do with it, another problem was the stupid thing chained to the presenter's belt, so I couldn't hold it up high enough and close to my face enough to see it properly. But needs a lot of fiddling and adjusting before you can see it clearly. And no, 3D isn't as overwhelming as you think it is. I think it even makes the games appear less sharpened.

Give me a must-have game and I'll get it.

I think they'll come with time.

Are the games still less sharpened when you turn off the 3D ?

I didn't have the time & the viewing angle to find that out. But I think what I call "less sharp" is due to the 3D effect only, so turning it off might make them look a bit more clear. But I blame most of it on the bad testing conditions.

Having one at my house now I can say its sharp (even in 3d) and seems to have better colours then the old DS. You can see the resolution difference drasticly if you play a normal ds game on it. Only problem graphicly for me is the Miis need anti-aliasing, its not blury...its too pixaly at the edges!

Got no current 3ds games (mehish), but the built in stuff is really fun. It comes with shitloads of little things to do.

Pretty impressed by the 3DS.... but not the battery!!

Just wondering if the 2d mode switches it to full 800x240 though...?

It doesn't suddenly get cut down to only half the screen IIRC.
