I'm tabbing LBA musictracks!:)

Hello, I'm ArchJ. Some days ago I googled for 30 minutes to find LBA related guitar tabs, and eventually I found one thread here. Realizing it wasn't really that great (No offense to the creator), I've decided to start a little project, to attempt to tab every music track in LBA.

At first hand LBA2, because I haven't played LBA1 for 5 years and it won't work on my comp (gotta install win95 or something ) So I'm most familiar to the melodies in LBA2.

With that said, here's my first section: (Guitar-pro5 file)
http://rapidshare.com/files/63277964...art_1.gp5.html

And for those who doesn't have GP, but are still interested to listen, here's a wav file: http://rapidshare.com/files/63277434/Lba2.wav.html

Please excuse the s**tty host and perhaps even suspicious, but yeah.
It's midimusic, but I managed to create almost a replica imo...
So please say your opinions as it'll help me further

I plan to make the different tracks piece by piece, then put them together so it'll be JUST like the titlescreen

I guess I'll just bump whenever the next one is ready! I'm currently working on the first part of the melody in the titlescreen, but that one is fairly tougher so I don't think it'll be as successful but we'll see.

ArchJ over and out! See you all later!

I'm pretty sure that mid files are played while playing LBA (the first one at least) if you can't play the CD music : Isn't it possible to extract the original midi files from the game ? That would make tabbing a lot easier I guess.

Anyway, that's great :] It really feels like the original one

Excellent tabbing, ArchJ! I've been wishing that someone would tab LBA music properly for ages now. Just perfect.

One of the reasons to why I've been wanting tabs is that I've been dying to make some remixes, in the style of chiptunes/chip music (by midifying and importing into tracker of choice.).Sadly, I never could get the notes down properly myself. I'm also pretty lousy on tabbing music in general.

Keep going! I will be watching for updates patiently.

Thanks for the comment! Just a quickie: Do you have GP?

Update: The second is here... I'm not as happy with this as the first, but I decided to host it now anyway. I'm not 100% done, there are some elements of the melody missing. This sequence was particularly hard to tab, because it's slow and calm. I think I did a fairly decent job this time.

I WILL fix the missing elements later, I just needed to tab something else for a while. It was driving me insane

Enjoy:

I felt obligated to throw up the .gp5 where it could be accessed easier.
Rapidshare is no place for these things. Infact, it's no place for anything.

URI: http://hoilund.org/~patrik/archj_lba_tabs/

I also threw an exported midi in there, for those who do not have Guitar Pro but would yet like to taste the sweet tabulature. I'll try to update the folder with all tabs that you may upload in the future. Cheerio!

Thanks for the comments guys
And homeless, that's great! So I'll just continue with the rapidshare, and you'll upload there right?

Update:

Almost finished with the second part, but I'll upload anyway. It's not 100% done, it's missing some background elements. I WILL finish it later, but this one was so hard to tab due to it's being slow and calm. (Since I can't figure out all the elements, I'm not as happy with this one compared to my first.)
But the main melody and feeling is there

I just need to tab some other parts for a while that's all

ArchJ : I was trying to say that I think there already are midi musics in the game (in LBA1 at least), and I was wondering if it was possible to use them for easier tabbing.

Homeless is hosting somewhere else also, for easier accessibility...

@Kyuubu
Don't really know much of that, but there are no midi-music in LBA2 at least... maybe some in LBA1, but definitely none in LBA2...

Update:I'm halfway through a third part. I don't know if I'll be done with it tomorrow, have a physics test for Tuesday so i gotta study some.
(I hate physics)

Thanks for the comments!

I just found that out... There's a guy in the other "tab-thread" which made it a tab file, but that's Powertab though. And it's correct

Just to update:

Had my physics test, didn't go well so I'm back and tabbing again
I'll finish the next one tomorrow, because I happened to find my (dads) old original LBA1!!! I'm so happy now, I never completed it as a kid and now I have the chance. I've tried several cracked versions of which none worked properly.

So, thanks for the comments! And I'll be soon back

Hey guys

First of all I'm sorry that I kinda bailed out without notice, but school suddenly became so intense just like that.

I'm posting to inform that I'm now going to update this thread regularly, but due to school it may take some time between each sequence (I'm guessing between 3-4 days - 1 week +/-)

So I'm just uploading a piece that was easy and fast to transcribe... don't know if it'll be of any interest, but hey, at least it's something

So here it is, I'm sure you'll recognize it (if not, shame on you)
http://rapidshare.com/files/97832875...art_6.mid.html
And sorry for rapidshare, but I really have nowhere else to upload it

Alright, cya all in some days or so, have fun =)

Really cool wokr ArchJ
It's really impressive especially for me because I'm planning to make a Medley for brass&wint-orchestra

But I think the deep instrument (chello/fagott ?) should rather be on offbeatat 00:03 and 00:10
If you compare with the original you'll notie what I mean.

Haha! I can't believe I didn't see that while I made it
Well that's how it goes when I do it too fast... thanks for notifying me though =)

Will fix it and upload it together with the new one in a few days.

Hey ArchJ ! You can find LBA1's midi musics in the download section of the MBN... (here)
And I think Ellimac made tabs for LBA2's main theme a long time ago, I dunno where it can be found thought.
Now, I'd like to say this is a nice work you're doing here, your transcription sounds very much like the original songs. Well done & keep going !

Hey there, thanks for the feedback!

I knew LBA1 had midi-music somewhere... but I didn't know where to find it But thanks ^^

But the LBA2 music is very different actually, more elements and stuff, and almost none of the songs are similar, only the title screen. But some of those will really help out where it's hard to listen...

And I believe I mentioned Ellimac's tabs when I started this thread, if that's his tabs... they weren't that great really (no offense). And they were written tabs anyway. Much more fun to sequence it to a midi-file, which everyone can enjoy and give me feedback (Not fully awake, probably some bad language here and there...)
