No, hacking can be quite a sport. It's exciting to see if you're able to get in an important website.
Of course not all hackers mean it so good, some of them just delete the files. But others just report the bug to the webmasters and how to stop the leak.
Hacking itself is very cool. Making damage with it is not cool.

i agree with wacko. hacking a site can be a great challenge and a wonderful sport.

but damn it, it's so difficult to become a hacker; especially a good one

It's the guy who damages the site that is a loser, not the hacker

Hacking is not too bright a thing to do, I know because I got suspended from my High School for it. I accessed the IT teacher's server space from a worksation and found loads of porno sites in his History and Cookies directories.

I accidentaly left one of the programs I used to give me extra privelidges (policy editor) in my diskspace and they figured it was me who found the stuff about the IT teacher, you see I told everyone what was there And set the network wallpaper as a screenshot of the incriminating folders.

I don't hack on the Internet because I have no need to and If I wanted to to attack some little arsehole then I'd just send him a virus.

Policy editor is not a hacking tool... It's just sick that you could use policy editor, that's no security...

Yeah, the teacher had been visiting such sites, although his excuse was that he was "testing the security filter for obscure sites". I doubt it seeing as one of them was bondage.com, I'd hardly call that obscure! And the time of the visits was all during lunch break or after school hours.

El Muerte, I know Policy Editor isn't a "Hacking Tool". It is part of the Windows Software, I didn't have to use any "hacking tools". The security didn't allow for that program to run, I ran it through an old 16Bit windows program that was on the systems and allowed you to choose another program as the Graphic editor or text editor, I chose to run policy editor and the security filter never detected it running. From there on I could access other things like the DOS prompt rather than getting messages saying "Permission Denied. Contact you Network Administrator"

Hacking school networks is the fun part of hacking. You don't do any serius damedge and half the time you know more then the Ad-Min.
The Admin in my school is very good through. He wrote hes own prection programme called 'stopper' then checks every few seconds and blasts any programmes that arn't on his list (as well as DOS based programes).
I found a few ways round it, whats more he knows I have found ways round it and dosn't really care (although he is planning an update to stop my 'get round' technic).
I don't do propper hacking, but I don't use ready made tools ether. I sort of explote Glitchs/Errors already in the programme.
Eg. To get past the stopper programme Me and a friend loaded 'Netmeeting' and told it to 'SharePrograme' and selected to stopper (on seperate machines). The two copys off stopper then Crashed Eachother releasing full controll of the system (Full Netaccess/Games ect.)

Well that's how I'd describe what I did aswell, not real hacking, just exploiting loopholes in the security software, ours was Windows Ranger. It is classified as hacking though because I was obtaining access to private files that the admin had chosen to restrict access to.

The network at my faculty is very tight. If you are able to break into it you are very very very good. Because there are over 1000 Computer Science students (don't know the real number), and most of them know pretty much of computers, when they find a bug they report it to the sys admin and it's fixed the next day...

Yeah that's true, but most hackers make damage, don't they?

No hacker just break in, and let know that they have been there, hacked site usualy have a new index page with a link to the real page. Hacker only want to break in and have a look around. The hacker that do damage are called Crackers, they break into system to destroy them or abuse them.

It's because the majority of the content on the pages is links and ads to other pages, and those pages have nothing but ads to more pages etc etc.

Why am I talking about this??

atresica: That's why porn sites are made by men and for men, I never visit them either, it's just a waste of money and time as V2 said..

Then if you wanna see something you can spy at the girl's dressing room or something instead of visiting porn sites
