Japanese version?

Okay, I couldn't find a search button, but I'm sure this has been asked before, but are there any screenshots of the japanese version of LBA 1 or 2? I just really would like to see it for some reason.

The Searching option is on the top right of each forum, or at the top middle of each page (to search the entire board, and not just a specific forum).

Nice!
And BTW... they have NTSC in Japan? I thought they had PAL or SECAM... oh well, it seems like my knowledge needs some revision then...

OK, I got it confirmed from yet another Japanese person, this time a trustworthy person, that indeed Japanese versions of both LBA 1 and LBA 2 were released in Japan, LBA 1 on PC and PlayStation, and LBA 2 on PC only - LBA 1 in 1995/96, LBA 2 in 1998.
Also, the PC versions of both games also got revised releases (they corrected some errors in translation and in Japanization of the Western words and names) in the 1999.

However, there would be a little problem for the Japanese PC version of LBA 1, in case anyone wanted to play it under Windows XP - LBAWin probably wouldn't work correctly with it, since, from what I saw, it's written for the European and U.S. versions of the game, which use normal 256-character fonts, and standard LBA 1-type texts.

- Link: I don't know yet. I'll ask Senichi (the trustworthy Japanese person), if any demos of the Japanese LBA's have been released at all, and if he has any.

BTW, only partially related to this thread, due to it's Asianness; I'll post some new screenshots from the Korean LBA 2 translation, which has been in progress since last year, and still only 60% finished (meh, that guy seems to be very busy with other things as well).

Only we're (yes, I'm in the team as well, as the font counsellor and maker) having a problem with it. Korean uses hangul for writing. It's a basically alphabetic script, but in which the letters - actually, phonemes - don't combine in the normal left-to-right order, but they combine into clusters instead, and only these clusters then combine in the normal left-to-right order.

Now, there are a lot of these clusters, way more than 256 - or 128, if only the extended ASCII space is to be used for non-English characters - and we're still figuring out a good way to do it. I already proposed to that Korean guy, if we could explit an option, brought to us by the LBA font's variable width - we can store vowel cluster parts separately, and consonant cluster parts separately as well, and thus reduce the number of needed characters greatly.

Me and him are also going to consult the hangul tables, and find any unused hanguls, so we can reducte the number of needed characters even more.

Anyway, does anyone here have any suggestion about what else could possibly be done to reduce the number of hanguls to a maximum of 128?
