Post LbaWin - The windows port of LBA
There have been some rumors about an old LBA crew member working on a Windows compatiable version of LBA1.
FunnyFrog gave us an unsupported patch that will fix LBA so that it can be run in Windows.
Yazor started to rewrite the whole game to work on more then one OS (Windows and Linux, but maybe more)
But no Sébastien Vianny, part of the original LBA crew and now also working for F4-Toys, comes with the news that he is working on LbaWin. LbaWin is a windows version of LBA, it's currently still in the Beta phase, but it looks very promissing. LbaWin will be freely available when it's done, you only need the original CD to play the game.

This is very great, if not totally awesome news.
Ofcourse I've immediately signed up for beta testing.

Oh man, the first thing: you see this Adeline logo coming appearing, more smoothly than ever, in a non-fullscreen window under Windows, and this great midi tune.... dude, this is awesome

Animations are so smooth..... really, better than you've ever seen.

And runs perfectly so far, with full music and sound. No hassles or whatsoever with setting it up: it just runs.

I experienced one of the know bugs, had to reboot mij machine in order to get the sound back
"- Bug with Cd-Audio/Digital mixer management (if user switch from
one to other during LBA run-time)"
Appeared that it was stupid off me because the CD was just muted :/

To bad that I can't continue any savegames, now I can't test if it still has the old LBA bugs (like the door jam)

But i's very awesome ...

To fix the save problem, just create a folder called "SAVE" in the LBA directory.

Also it will be fixed in version 0.7.3

because of the high demand, just inmagine the extra publicity because of this port. F4-Toys and Adeline will get extra attention (and hopefully the MBN too )

Indeed, it's great of Sébastien to work on well an 'official' LBA patch. It's great to see some signs of a member who worked on the LBA team actually working on the game again

To prevent any more "Where can I download it?" questions:

1) Go to http://lbawin.akoonet.com/mantis/
2) Register
3) Log in
4) Go to the "View Bugs" page
5) Look for any posts marked "Release" and find the latest version (0.7.3 is the most current one)
6) You can download it there.

looks like that realy caused by the diffirence in the LBA and Relentless CD
