Of course people want photorealism, their too unimaginative to accept other styles.
Look at the outraged that about the new cell-shaded Zelda.
People were saying the game was crap before 1 single thing about the gameplay was released.
The average game player is very shallow, you only have to look at typical sales charts to see that.
As soon as photorealism is reached, hopefully people will realise its not a big deal and stop careing.

I liked the cell shading in the new Zelda, some games look excelent with cell shading.
most ppl only care about a few reviews, they don't form their own opinion, they just follow the crowd.

If you could get a photorealistic game, with good gameplay, and both have had equal attention.

could you imagine Twinsen in photorealism??? That would suck big time!!! And Auto Modellista, XIII => those games look pretty good! /me don't like photorealism
