Questions and answers by axx

Axx did the following and wasnt able to post it.
Axx speaking:
Ok i sent the questions by mail, as a phone interview wasnt possible, sorry bout the delay. he answered under my questions, and made comments as youll notice. He also mentioned how lba3 is possible. I will cook up somthing to see what freds response is, hopefully positive.

hi Didier,
I wanted to ask you a few questions about
adeline, and its projects as a phone conversation
dosnt seem possible. These questions were chossen and
made by the Magical Ball Network Forum members (one of
the few lba forums, though this one is very large,
www.magicball.net) This will only take a few minutes
of your time, so i wish you could answer them

1. How many members does Adeline consist of?

We're 6 people who constitute a new heart of Adeline team. Also we work
with a few independents or companies.

ADELINE TEAM
Hugues Tardif
Pascal Dubois
Arnaud Lhomme
Gael Marlier
Romain Chavanne
Didier Chanfray

2. Who is Adelines publisher?

Adeline hasn't a regular publisher. UBI soft For Motoracer Advance
(October Europe) (November US)

3. Will Adeline create games only for the Game Boy
Advance?

Our next product is on GBA, it's a convivial support development and
need a compact team.
In the future we provide make a multi platform development. Adeline
doesn't many enlarge to product PC/GC/PS2. We'll work with the
independents studio.

4. At E3, Adeline won 2 awards for the conversion of
motocross racer. What can you tell us about your
upcoming conversion?

You know, there are very best guys in the team. They make game with
passion and professionalism. We like Motoracer series specially the
one.
We tried to catch the famous spirit of this game.

5. Adeline is famous for its series, Little Big
Adventure 1 & 2. What if any are the chances of a
continuation to the series, Little Big Adventure 3?

I don't know....maybe 10%....what a pity!... Perhaps one day.

6. I would like to know anything, anything at all
about what is happening to the lba3 project, what will
it take to be made?

Sincerely, for close LBA's dream it's possible. Just have a good accord
with Fred and have his collaboration on the project. Also a major
publisher.

7. You began working on an lba conversion to the gba,
as we all know there are no such games on the gba.
What stops you from making a conversion to the game
boy advance?

Today the LBAGBA version is not scheduled.
There are several like to product this conversion.
The most important it's that the spirit be the same.

8. Lastly i wanted to inform you on the creation of an
Lba1 and 2 patch, which allows them to be played on
modern systems, like windows xp. Do you have any
comment? (attached with this e-mail)

It's very well and I hope that many people will can play or (re)play on
them new machine with enjoy.
Sebastien Viannay (F4-TOY) has finished one windows version (LBA1)
too...it will be available soon.

I thank you, also if you would like to reply in
french, then do so, as we can have it translated.

Thank you everybody for your comments about Twinsen's word (I read the
forum often). The fan does that the legend be alive.

DID

Kind Regardes
Ahmad Ghourab

Id like to see real response, as this is really a change in the news

Noooooooooo, this does not make me happy, BUT he doesn't rule it out, so there's still hope.

bah, hes missunderesitmating
Ive never thought of it as an if question, its a when and how.
10% chance of them working on it in the next few years, probably.

-sigh-
I'm worried about the GBA conversion.

"The most important it's that the spirit be the same. "

Kind of implies the games not the same.
If they turn it into a cheap platformer

I think he more means that it's pretty difficult to convert it to GBA and to keep the best aspects of the original. A new game sounds pretty unrealistic in my opinion (not in the last place because we once had a person in the channel that might be involved with the LBA to GBA converstion)

at last some fresh news!! nice job axx

well... i didn't get what it means. he wants us to come in touch with fred so that he will let them make lba3? sorry, but if that's it, i'm disappointed. i really wouldn't like to see a lba without fred. it's just....... not ok!!

i was prepared for 10%, probably even worse, so that doesn't surprise me..

No, that is not wat is stated here. I don't know if it are dictates, but "collaboration" just means (in dutch: samenwerking, medewerking) something like "working together" or "helping out" in this context. So that could mean he wants Fred to help him out on the project or, in your translation, give him a green light to start making LBA3.

Yes, really, really usefull, didn't notice that yet.....

But can't we set up something the two of them meet or just make up? Send them on a blind date or something

No, seriously, if that's all that's needed I think the chances aren't really bad that we will see LBA3 one day, in the future....

I don't understand the answer to 6 at all either. It looks like maybe he's saying it would take his and fred's working together and then of course a publisher. Could some english and french speaker who could better understand his errors and syntax give their opinion?

He needs to make 'a deal' with Fred and have him help with the project. And a major publisher, to make a new LBA.

Even that shouldn't be a problem, because together they have (allmost) all the rights, don't they? Fred the characters and stuff, Didier the name. (correct me if I'm wrong, but there isn't a third-party involved who could spoil it all, is there?)
Vachey is still there for the music, so if they all want it, and we can make them clear there is a large group of fans waiting for it, so it will be profitable, they don't have any reason not to do it.

Oh theres a reason, see, LBA 1 and 2 is a game that was played by very few people, the MBN is probably about 90% of all LBA fans, if they make LBA 3, and it turns out that as few people buy it as did LBA 2, then weve got a real problem, the same is hapening with Blackisle, thyre afraid to release a Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance 2 because few people played the first one, even though the first one ended oin such a cliffhanger that one is left to assume that theyll make a sequel, and, the first one was the best 2-player RPG for the PS2 released.

So, there's your problem.

Consoles have never had strong RPG support.
There still making loads of BG spin offs for the PC.

LBA2 didn't sell that bad. Not really good either, but good enough to justify a sequel.

If you see how fast the small-box-classic-version was sold out around here you can know for sure it sold okay.

And it won't be the same in each country....
